The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G, running One UI 7, gives you plenty of ways to grab a screenshot. Whether you prefer pressing buttons or using gestures, here's how to capture your screen.

Use the Button Combo

The fastest method is pressing the physical buttons. Press the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time, then release quickly. The screen will flash, and you'll hear a shutter sound (unless your phone is on silent). A floating toolbar appears at the bottom with options to edit, share, or capture more of the page.

There's no Home button on this model, so this is the main hardware shortcut to remember.

Swipe Your Palm Across the Screen

Samsung's palm swipe gesture is a handy alternative. Go to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures and toggle on Palm swipe to capture. Now you can take a screenshot by swiping the edge of your hand horizontally across the display from one side to the other.

This works well when you're holding the phone with one hand and can't easily reach both buttons.

Use the Edge Panel

The Edge Panel is another fast way to grab screenshots. If you don't see the Edge handle on the side of your screen, enable it by going to Settings > Display > Edge panels and toggling it on. Swipe the handle, then open Smart select to capture a rectangle, oval, or even a GIF.

You can also add a screenshot button to the Edge Panel through the Tasks panel for one-tap access.

Ask Bixby or Google Assistant

Hands-free capture works great when your fingers are dirty or your hands are full. Say "Hey Bixby, take a screenshot" or "Hey Google, take a screenshot" and the assistant handles it instantly. The image saves to your Gallery automatically.

Both assistants work reliably on the A26 5G, so use whichever you have set up as your default.

Use the Quick Settings Panel

One UI 7 has a dedicated Screenshot button in the Quick Settings area. Swipe down from the top of the screen twice to open the full panel, then look for the Screenshot tile. Tap it to capture whatever is on your screen. If you don't see it, tap the pencil icon to edit your Quick Settings and drag the Screenshot tile into the active area.

Capture a Scroll Screenshot

Need to save a whole conversation or a long webpage? After taking a standard screenshot, tap the Scroll capture button (two downward arrows) on the floating toolbar. Keep tapping it until the page stops extending, and the A26 5G will stitch everything into one long image.

This works best in supported apps like Chrome, Samsung Internet, and most social media feeds.

Edit and Share Your Screenshots

The floating toolbar that appears after a screenshot gives you instant access to cropping, drawing, and sharing. If you dismiss it, all your screenshots are saved in the Gallery app under Albums > Screenshots. One UI 7 includes AI-powered editing tools in the Gallery, like object eraser and lighting adjustment, which work well on captured screenshots.

Change Screenshot Settings

You can customize how screenshots behave on the A26 5G. Open Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recordings to adjust the save format, hide the toolbar after capture, or change the screenshot delay. If the shutter sound bothers you, put your phone on silent or vibrate mode.
