To repost on TikTok, open a video in the mobile app, tap Share, then tap Repost. You can also repost by pressing and holding the video or by tapping a friend’s displayed profile photo on content they have reposted. These methods apply in the TikTok mobile app where Repost is available.
The short version
- Share menu: Open the video, tap Share, then tap Repost.
- Video shortcut: Press and hold the video, then tap Repost.
- Friend’s repost: Tap the friend’s displayed profile photo at the bottom of their reposted content, then tap Repost.
Choose a route based on the menu or profile photo displayed on the video. Removing a repost also deletes its related replies.

Repost through the sharing menu
Open the video you want to repost in the TikTok app. Tap Share to open the sharing menu, then tap Repost.
Tapping Repost shares the video immediately. Make sure it is the video you want to repost before tapping, since that tap performs the action.
Use the video’s press and hold menu
With the video open in the TikTok app, press and hold directly on the video to open its menu. Tap Repost to repost it.
This route starts on the video itself and gives you another way to reach Repost. You do not need to download the video to use it.
Repost content a friend has shared
Open content a friend has reposted in the TikTok app. When their profile photo is displayed at the bottom of the video, tap that photo, then tap Repost. For a video without that friend-photo shortcut, use Share or the press-and-hold menu where Repost is available.
Undo a repost through sharing
Removing a repost also deletes its related replies. Open the content you reposted, tap Share, then tap Delete repost.
Remove a repost through the video or your photo
Removing a repost also deletes its related replies. Open the reposted video, press and hold on it, then tap Remove repost. The removal button in this menu has different wording from Delete repost in the sharing menu.
Removing a repost through your profile photo also deletes its related replies. Open the content you reposted, tap your profile photo at the bottom, then tap Remove.
Friends’ profile photos can appear on the same video if they have also reposted it. Tap your own photo when you want to remove your repost.
Where your reposts appear
Your reposts appear in your profile’s repost tab and can also appear in other people’s For You feeds. The repost tab is a place to find content you have reposted.
If your account is private, only your followers can see your reposts. Keep that audience in mind when choosing a video to repost.
Your comment privacy settings do not govern replies to reposts. Removing a repost also deletes the replies associated with it, whichever removal route you use.
