Your Xfinity router admin login is not always just a browser address anymore. On newer rented Xfinity WiFi Gateways, you enable Admin Tool access in the Xfinity app first, then open the local admin page at http://10.0.0.1.

Here is the current path for residential gateways, older gateways, bridge mode setups, forgotten passwords, and Comcast Business equipment.

Start With the Xfinity App

For current Xfinity WiFi Gateways, begin in the Xfinity app. Go to Xfinity's app page, choose Download the App, install it from Google Play or the App Store, then open the app.

Sign in with an Xfinity ID that has WiFi access. Xfinity supports the app on Apple iOS 17.2 or later and Android 10.0 or later, and says the app works for Xfinity customers except Xfinity Prepaid Internet.

Features vary by service type, role, gateway, and bridge mode. If the app does not show the admin access controls, use the older local login path for Wireless Gateway 1, Wireless Gateway 2, and XB3-era equipment.

Enable Admin Tool Access

The most common cause of a blocked admin page is that Admin Tool online access has not been enabled on a newer Xfinity gateway.

Open the Xfinity app and go to WiFi, then View WiFi equipment, then Advanced settings. Choose Admin Tool online access, turn on Allow Admin Tool access, and select Save.

The first time you enable it, create a new Admin Tool password and select Save. Use that password at the router login page.

Log In at 10.0.0.1

After access is enabled, sign in from a device on your home Xfinity network.

  1. 1.Connect your phone, tablet, or computer to your home Xfinity WiFi network.
  2. 2.Open a browser and go to http://10.0.0.1.
  3. 3.Enter admin as the username.
  4. 4.Enter the Admin Tool password you created in the Xfinity app.
  5. 5.Select LOGIN.

Use the Older Gateway Path

Some older Xfinity gateways do not use the app toggle. Xfinity specifically notes that Wireless Gateway 1, Wireless Gateway 2, and XB3 do not support the newer Admin Tool online access toggle.

Connect to your home network, open a browser, and go to http://10.0.0.1. Use admin for the username and the password printed on the sticker on the bottom of the Xfinity Gateway.

If you are prompted after the first login or after a reset, set a new Admin Tool ID and password. If the sticker password does not work, use the factory reset path only when you are ready to erase custom gateway settings.

Recover a Forgotten Admin Password

The most common cause is that the Admin Tool password was changed after setup and the saved copy is gone.

For XB2 and XB3 gateways, Xfinity documents a hardware factory reset. Find the small reset hole on the back of the gateway, then use a paperclip or pin to press and hold the button for 30 seconds.

Release the button and wait for the lights to flash and turn solid. Reconnect using the default WiFi name and password on the bottom label, then open http://10.0.0.1 and sign in with the gateway-label password.

A factory reset erases custom settings such as your WiFi name and password. For customer-owned modem or router hardware, use the manufacturer's reset instructions.

Log In With Ethernet in Bridge Mode

This fixes admin access when bridge mode limits app-based network management.

Connect a device directly to the gateway with an Ethernet cable.

Open a browser and go to http://10.0.0.1.

Enter admin as the username.

Use the gateway-sticker password, or use the new Admin Tool password if it was changed before.

After logging in, find Bridge Mode under Gateway, then At a Glance.

Use the Comcast Business Login

This applies when you have Comcast Business equipment or service, not a regular residential Xfinity home gateway. The business gateway uses a different admin address and login.

Open a browser and go to http://10.1.10.1. Enter cusadmin as the username and use the Network Key or Password as the password.

Select Login to enter the Comcast Business Wireless Gateway admin page.

Skip Old Router Login Advice

Older tutorials often tell people to use admin and password at http://10.0.0.1. Xfinity's current residential support pages document a newly created Admin Tool password or the gateway-sticker password instead.

Other old guides point to xfinity.com/myxfi or the retired xFi website for gateway management. For this task, use the Xfinity app path WiFi, View WiFi equipment, Advanced settings, Admin Tool online access, then open http://10.0.0.1 locally.

Turn Admin Tool Access Off

After you finish in the router admin page, close the same access toggle in the Xfinity app.

  1. 1.Open the Xfinity app and choose WiFi.
  2. 2.Select View WiFi equipment.
  3. 3.Open Advanced settings.
  4. 4.Choose Admin Tool online access.
  5. 5.Turn off Admin Tool access and select Save.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Xfinity router admin login address?

For residential Xfinity gateways, use http://10.0.0.1 while connected to your home network. Comcast Business gateways use http://10.1.10.1.

What username should I use for an Xfinity router admin login?

For residential Xfinity gateways, the username is admin. Comcast Business gateways use cusadmin.

Is the default Xfinity router password still password?

Xfinity's current support pages do not document password as the general residential default. Use the Admin Tool password you created when you turned on Admin Tool online access in the Xfinity app. Xfinity says customers who enabled access prior to February 2026 may still use the default password on the sticker on the bottom of the gateway, and that sticker password is also what older gateways use.

Can I use the Xfinity app instead of the Admin Tool?

Use the Xfinity app to enable Admin Tool access on newer gateways. The actual residential router admin page still opens locally at http://10.0.0.1.
