To fix the ZoomInfo Chrome extension not working, turn it off and back on, reload the affected page, and restore its permission to access that website. Check for an outage before trying broader fixes, then update Chrome and ZoomInfo if the problem continues. The Windows Settings path below uses Windows 11 menus.
The short version
- Start small: Enable ZoomInfo, reload the page, and check its site access.
- Update both: Install pending Chrome updates and run an extension update check.
- Match the symptom: Check cookies for website sign-in trouble and other extensions for interference.
- Save broader fixes for later: Repair or reinstall ZoomInfo before resetting Chrome.

Find ZoomInfo and restart the extension
Open Extensions in Chrome and select ZoomInfo. If its toolbar icon was hidden, select Pin to keep it visible. You can open the extension from this menu without reinstalling it.
Open More > Extensions > Manage extensions. Turn ZoomInfo on if it is disabled, or turn it off and back on if it is already enabled. Return to the affected website and select Reload this page beside the address bar. If your organization controls the extension and prevents changes, contact your administrator.
For a cache-bypassing reload on Windows or Linux, press Ctrl + Shift + R; on macOS, press Command + Shift + R. Windows and Linux also support Shift + F5. Reopen ZoomInfo after reloading the page.
Check service status and your connection
Visit https://status.zoominfo.com/ and check Sales and GTM Workspace. Review Past Incidents for extension incidents and follow any recovery instructions attached to the relevant incident. If an outage is active, local browser changes cannot repair it.
Try opening other websites as well. If multiple sites fail, verify your Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection, complete any public-network sign-in portal, and check your router or modem. Ask IT or your internet service provider to investigate continuing connection failures or firewall blocking.
Restore access to the affected website
On the website where ZoomInfo fails, select Extensions, then open More beside ZoomInfo. Choose This can read and change site data, then select On [current site], using the entry for the website you have open. This grants access within the extension’s requested permissions.
You can instead choose On all sites to allow access across the sites covered by those permissions. Reload the affected page and reopen ZoomInfo after changing its access. If your organization enforces the restriction, ask your administrator to review the extension’s permissions and URL access.
Update ZoomInfo and restart Chrome
When Chrome displays New Chrome available, select it and then select Relaunch to Update. Chrome also applies pending updates when you close and reopen it, as explained in how to manage automatic updates in Chrome. If your organization manages browser updates, ask IT for help applying them.
You can also request an extension update check. Open the following address in Chrome.
chrome://extensionsTurn on Developer mode, then select Update. Once the check finishes, reload the affected website and try ZoomInfo again.
If the problem remains, fully close Chrome and reopen it. On Windows, select More > Exit, then reopen Chrome. On macOS, select Chrome > Quit Google Chrome, then reopen it. On a Chromebook, close Chrome and reopen it from Launcher.
Check other extensions and browser memory
Open More > Extensions > Manage extensions and temporarily turn off your other extensions. Leave ZoomInfo enabled and try it again on the affected website. If it works, turn the others back on individually and retest after each one to identify the conflict. If disabling them makes no difference, re-enable them and continue troubleshooting.
If Chrome stalls or crashes, close unused tabs with Ctrl + W on Windows, Linux, or ChromeOS, or Command + W on macOS. For resource-heavy tasks, open More > More tools > Task Manager and select Memory. Ending a task loses unsaved work in that task. Select an unwanted task, then select End Process.
Fix website sign in and cookie problems
If website sign-in fails and Chrome shows Third-party cookies blocked in the address bar, select that control. Turn on Third-party cookies, then select Close to reload the page. Use this as a test for a website login problem when cookies are blocked.
For a persistent exception on that site, open More > Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies. Under Sites allowed to use third-party cookies, select Add, enter the affected site, and select Add again.
Deleting ZoomInfo website cookies and site data may sign you out of ZoomInfo’s website and delete your saved preferences there. Open More > Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies > See all site data and permissions. Search for ZoomInfo, select Delete beside the relevant site, then select Delete to confirm.
Sign in again if prompted and retry the affected page. This cleanup targets website data and does not necessarily reset the extension’s own storage. Sign in only through ZoomInfo’s own app or website, and never share a code, password, or remote access with someone who contacts you.
Repair or reinstall the ZoomInfo extension
If Chrome displays a corruption warning for ZoomInfo, open More > Extensions > Manage extensions. Select Repair on ZoomInfo, then select Repair extension. Try opening it again after the repair finishes.
Removing ZoomInfo uninstalls the extension from Chrome. If repair or the earlier fixes do not resolve the problem, open More > Extensions > Manage extensions. On ZoomInfo, select Remove, then select Remove again. If policy prevents removal or installation, contact your administrator.
In a regular desktop Chrome window, open the official ZoomInfo extension listing from ZoomInfo Technologies Inc. Select Add to Chrome, then select Add extension. Open the installed extension and sign in with your ZoomInfo account. Installation requires a regular window rather than Guest or Incognito.
Use broader Chrome fixes only if needed
Clearing browser cookies and cached files deletes those categories of browsing data and may sign you out of websites. Open More > Delete browsing data and choose All time. Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, leave unrelated categories unselected, then select Delete data. Sign in again if prompted and retry ZoomInfo before proceeding.
Resetting Chrome affects cookies, content settings, extensions, and other browser preferences, while saved bookmarks and passwords remain. Open More > Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to their original defaults, then select Reset settings. Recheck that ZoomInfo is enabled and has permission to access the affected website afterward.
If Chrome itself remains broken, reinstalling the browser is a later fallback. Uninstalling Chrome removes the browser from your computer. Do not delete profile folders as part of these steps.
On Windows 11, close Chrome, then open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Google Chrome > More > Uninstall. Select Uninstall, then select Yes.
On macOS, right-click Chrome in the Dock and select Quit. Open Finder and drag Google Chrome from Applications to Trash.
On supported Linux installations, use the removal command for your distribution. For Debian-based Linux, run the following command.
sudo dpkg -r google-chrome-stableThe other removal command applies to RPM-based Linux. On that distribution type, run the following command.
sudo rpm -e google-chrome-stableAfter removing Chrome, open Google’s official Chrome download page on the computer that needs it. Use the download control for your operating system to reinstall the browser.
Resolve managed access and account problems
If you use managed Chrome and cannot change ZoomInfo’s installation or permissions, contact your administrator. Administrators can open Google Admin console > Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions > Users & browsers. For Chrome Enterprise Core, start at Chrome browser > Apps & extensions.
As an administrator, select the relevant organizational unit or group and ZoomInfo. Set Installation policy to Allow install or an appropriate Force install option, then select Save. Also review Permissions and URL access for restrictions.
If you use ZoomInfo Sales or Marketing with Salesloft access and its export destination is missing, an administrator must first connect Salesloft under Admin Portal > Integrations > Connections, then turn on the integration’s toggle on the Connected tab of Admin Portal > Integrations. Then, in ZoomInfo, select your name icon > Settings > Integrations. Under the Salesloft tile, select Connect and sign in with your Salesloft credentials. This addresses the integration prerequisite; use the browser fixes above for a blank extension panel.
For unresolved failures, open the ZoomInfo contact page and select I want support, or email [email protected]. Include the symptom, affected website, Chrome version, ZoomInfo extension version, and troubleshooting you have completed. Describe whether the problem involves authentication, missing data, an integration, or a panel that will not load.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Chrome update ZoomInfo automatically?
Chrome checks for extension updates automatically. You can request a manual check when troubleshooting instead of waiting for the automatic process.
Can you give ZoomInfo permission to run in Incognito?
Chrome provides an Incognito permission control for extensions when available. Open More > Extensions > Manage extensions > ZoomInfo > Details, then turn on Allow in incognito if shown. This changes Chrome’s permission for the extension; it does not establish that ZoomInfo will function correctly in that mode.
Can you open browsing data controls without using Chrome’s menu?
On Windows or Linux, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete; on macOS, press Command + Shift + Delete. Alternatively, type Delete browsing data into the address bar and select the Delete browsing data action chip. Then choose the time range and categories before deleting anything.
Where is Chrome’s global third-party cookie setting?
Open More > Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies, then select Allow third-party cookies if your organization’s policy permits it. This changes the global cookie setting; for a login problem on one website, you can use the site-specific cookie test described above.
Why does the ZoomInfo product page address say ReachOut?
ZoomInfo’s extension product page retains ReachOut in its address. You can use that page to identify the product, then use the separate official ZoomInfo Chrome Web Store listing to install it.
