Discord email verification is stuck, and you’re left waiting for a message or staring at an error. Start with the account address and a fresh verification email, then check the mailbox settings that control delivery. If Discord displays an error, use the matching fix below.

Make sure you’re checking the right inbox

In an existing Discord desktop or browser session, click the cogwheel beside your username to open User Settings → My Account. Check the email address attached to your account before searching your inbox.

No accessible session? Search your other inboxes for Discord messages, or sign in using an already-linked phone number to identify the account.

If you cannot open the registered mailbox, use your email provider’s account-recovery process. Discord requires access to the existing inbox to change your account email. Support cannot change the address for you.

Request a fresh verification email

On desktop or in a browser, click the cogwheel beside your Discord username to open User Settings. Select My Account, then click Resend Verification Email.

On iPhone or Android, tap your bottom-right avatar instead. Tap the top-right cogwheel, open Account, and tap Verify. Open the delivered email and follow its verification instructions.

Tip: If Discord says you’re changing your email too quickly, wait 24 hours before another verification or email-change attempt.

Look beyond your main inbox

Check the places your email service puts messages outside the inbox.

  1. 1.In Gmail on the web, open Show search options. Under Search, open All Mail and choose Mail & Spam & Trash. Enter Discord-related search details, then click Search.
  2. 2.To recover a Gmail message from spam, open More → Spam, select the Discord email, and click Not spam.
  3. 3.For iCloud Mail on iPhone or iPad, open Mail → Junk, open the message, then choose Move to Folder → Inbox. On a Mac, drag the message from Junk to Inbox.
  4. 4.On iCloud.com, open Mail → Junk, select the email, and choose Move Message → Inbox → Move.

Allow Discord’s senders if the message stays missing

Use this fix when verification emails still do not arrive or keep landing in spam. Discord recommends allowing [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected] in your email provider.

In Gmail on a computer, open Show search options. Enter one Discord sender address in From, then click Create filter. Select Never send it to Spam, and click Create filter again. Repeat for the other two addresses.

To check for existing Gmail blocks, open Settings → See all settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses. Select any blocked Discord senders, then click Unblock selected addresses. Review that same page for filters that delete Discord messages or skip the inbox. Use Edit or Delete to correct a matching rule.

In new Outlook for Windows, Outlook.com, or Outlook on the web, open Settings → Mail → Junk email → Senders → Safe senders and domains. Choose + Add safe sender, then enter one Discord sender address. Click OK, followed by Save. Repeat for the other two addresses.

To check Outlook’s blocked senders, open Settings → Mail → Junk email. Select any blocked Discord address or domain, then choose Remove.

For Gmail, Yahoo, or iCloud accounts connected to new Outlook, manage blocking through the actual email provider. Request another verification email using Resend Verification Email on desktop or Verify on mobile.

Resolve Discord’s email errors

If Discord says you’re changing your email too quickly, wait 24 hours before another verification or email-change attempt. Repeated attempts are not the next step here.

For Invalid Email, wait 24 hours before retrying that address, or try another address.

For Email is already registered, use an address that is not attached to another Discord account. Changing your account email requires access to the existing inbox.

If an error is incorrect or persists, report it through Discord’s Submit a request page.

Try another connection and check delivery limits

These checks address resend trouble, full mailboxes, and service interruptions. After allowing Discord’s senders, access the same Discord account on another device. Request verification through User Settings → My Account → Resend Verification Email on desktop, or your bottom-right avatar → top-right cogwheel → Account → Verify on mobile.

For a separate connection test, switch your phone to mobile data. Request another email using Verify. Discord recommends trying a mobile-data connection.

If Gmail has stopped receiving messages generally, open Google’s missing messages help page. Use Check how much space you have left to inspect your Google storage usage. Free up space if storage is full. Gmail shares that storage with Google Drive and Google Photos.

For Outlook.com, open Settings → Account → Storage to review mailbox usage. Remove unneeded items, including messages in Deleted Items. Free up Microsoft cloud storage too if Outlook indicates that it is full.

Request another Discord email once storage is available, using Resend Verification Email or Verify. Outlook.com messages sent while you were over quota can bounce.

Check Discord Status for a relevant incident. If an incident is active, follow its updates before retrying. If verification still fails, report the exact error or verification failure through Discord’s Submit a request page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I change the email address on my Discord account?

You need access to your existing inbox. On desktop or web, click the cogwheel beside your username to open User Settings → My Account. Click Edit beside your email address. Complete the prompts, then click Done. Verify through the new inbox. On mobile, tap your bottom-right avatar, then the top-right cogwheel. Open Account and tap your current email address. Complete the prompts, then tap Change Email. Verify through the new inbox.

Can Discord support manually send my verification email?

No. Discord says support cannot manually send verification emails. Contact support for persistent verification errors.

Can I use phone verification instead of email verification?

A verified phone number satisfies a server’s Verification Levels without the email or waiting requirements. This applies to server access; it does not establish a bypass for a platform-wide email-verification restriction.

Why am I still blocked from a server after verifying my email?

Servers have additional verification requirements. Medium requires that your email has been verified for more than five minutes. High requires a verified email, an account registered on Discord for more than five minutes, and more than ten minutes in the server. Highest also requires a verified phone number. Ask the server administrator which requirement is blocking access.

How do I check a work or school mailbox’s quarantine?

For Microsoft 365 work or school mailboxes, open security.microsoft.com and go to Email & collaboration → Review → Quarantine → Email. Select the Discord message, then choose Release → Release message → Done. If only Request release appears, select it and confirm. If neither option appears, ask your mail administrator to review the message.
