To fix a Hyundai Bluetooth connection problem, turn your phone’s Bluetooth off and on, reconnect the correct phone in the car’s device list, then rebuild the pairing if it still fails. If your phone connects but calls or music do not work, check the audio connection and permissions before resetting settings.

Park before starting the pairing procedure. Hyundai menus vary by infotainment system and region, so follow the path that matches your equipment.

The short version

  • Start small: Restart Bluetooth on your phone and retry the connection.
  • Select your phone: Check that the Hyundai has connected the intended phone for calls or audio.
  • Rebuild the pairing: Deleting the connection removes its saved registration, so pair the phone and vehicle again afterward.
  • Match the symptom: Silent music, missing contacts, and wireless CarPlay failures need different checks.

Restart Bluetooth and your phone

Turn Bluetooth off on your phone, turn it back on, and reconnect to the Hyundai. On an iPhone, open Settings > Bluetooth, turn Bluetooth off, wait approximately five seconds, then turn it on again. If the connection still fails, power the phone off and on and retry.

For a supported Galaxy phone, open Quick settings from the top-right corner, tap the Power off icon, then tap Restart. If the phone is frozen, hold the Side and Volume down keys together for more than seven seconds. Key layouts vary by device.

Bring your phone close to the infotainment system and remove intervening obstructions or nearby electronic interference. Charge the phone if its battery is low, then retry the connection.

If your ccNC infotainment system is unresponsive and has a reset button identified in the vehicle’s manual, press that button with a pen or clip to restart it. Reconnect your phone after the system restarts.

Reconnect the correct phone in your Hyundai

On US ccNC systems, open Setup > Device Connections > Device Connections. Tap your phone’s hands-free or Bluetooth audio icon to connect the function you need. Tap an already-connected icon to disconnect that function from another device; ccNC supports one hands-free connection and up to two Bluetooth audio devices.

On US STD_GEN5W_8 systems, start at All Menus, then open Setup > Device Connections > Device Connections and select the required connection icon. Other Gen5W variants include a Bluetooth submenu. For Display Audio Gen2V with the Canadian English interface, open All Menus > Setup > Device Connections > Bluetooth > Bluetooth Connections, then select your phone.

With the button-operated radio covered by Hyundai’s 2025 US4 manual, press PHONE, then select Phone settings > Paired devices. Turn the TUNE knob to your phone and press the TUNE knob to select. This system connects one phone at a time, so disconnect the current phone first if necessary.

If those menus do not match your vehicle, open Hyundai’s pairing tool. Choose Select Vehicle Year and Select Model, select your carrier, phone manufacturer, and phone, then open Pairing Instructions. Follow the instructions for your installed infotainment system; coverage varies.

Delete the saved connection and pair again

Deleting a device from US ccNC removes its saved pairing and downloaded phone data. Open Setup > Device Connections > Device Connections > Delete Device(s), select your phone, tap Delete, then Yes. The system stores up to six devices, so removing an unused registration also frees a pairing slot.

Deleting a device on Gen5W or Display Audio removes its saved pairing. On US STD_GEN5W_8 or Canadian English Display Audio Gen2V, open the connection list described above, choose Delete Device(s), select your phone, then press Delete and Yes.

Deleting a device on ccNC Lite removes its saved pairing. On the MID English interface, open Settings > Phone connections > Phone connections > Delete devices, select the phone, then press Delete and Yes.

Removing the Hyundai from your iPhone deletes that saved Bluetooth pairing. Open Settings > Bluetooth, tap the information button beside the Hyundai, then tap Forget This Device. Tap Forget Device to confirm.

Removing the Hyundai from your Galaxy deletes that saved Bluetooth pairing. Open Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, tap the vehicle’s settings icon, and select Unpair. Samsung also uses Forget device on some interfaces.

Removing the Hyundai from your Pixel deletes that saved Bluetooth pairing. Open Settings > Connected devices > Saved devices, or open the Bluetooth list. Tap the vehicle’s settings icon, choose Forget, then tap Forget device.

To pair again on US ccNC, open Setup > Device Connections > Device Connections > Add New. Enable Bluetooth on your phone, select the vehicle name shown on the Hyundai display, and check that the authentication codes match. Follow the displayed approval prompts.

The US STD_GEN5W_8 system uses the same Add New path, starting from All Menus. On ccNC Lite with the MID English interface, use Settings > Phone connections > Phone connections > Add new. For the button-operated radio covered by Hyundai’s 2025 US4 manual, press PHONE, select Phone settings > Add new device, then select the vehicle on your phone.

Fix connected phones with missing audio or contacts

On Pixel and compatible Android interfaces, open Settings > Connected devices, then Bluetooth and Saved devices if shown. Tap the settings icon beside the Hyundai, then enable Media audio for music or Phone audio for calls. Check whether another connected accessory is receiving the audio.

On European ccNC systems, press MEDIA and select Bluetooth Audio. When multiple sources are connected, hold MEDIA to open source selection. Remove USB cables from your phone while checking Bluetooth playback, since simultaneous USB and Bluetooth connections can interfere.

On Australian Gen5W systems with these media controls, open your music app on the phone at least once. Press MEDIA, select Media sources > Bluetooth Audio, or cycle sources with the steering-wheel MODE button. Start playback from the phone if necessary.

For silent audio on US ccNC, turn up the control-panel Volume control and press the steering-wheel Volume button to unmute. During a call, check the microphone-mute, microphone-volume, and phone-transfer icons on the active-call screen. Correct the microphone settings and check whether the call has transferred to the handset.

Missing contacts need phone-side access: during supported Android pairing, tap Allow access to your contacts and call history and wait for synchronization. On US ccNC, open Setup > Device Connections and disable Privacy Mode if contacts are hidden. Enable Message Notification for missing message alerts, with phone compatibility and phone-side permissions still required.

Check wireless CarPlay or Android Auto separately

Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto require both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on compatible Hyundai systems. Enable both on your phone before pairing; ordinary Bluetooth calls and music do not require Wi-Fi. On supported Display Audio systems with the Canadian English interface, open All Menus > Setup > Wi-Fi and enable Use Wi-Fi for Phone Projection.

On compatible US ccNC systems, open Setup > Device Connections > Phone Projection. Use Android Auto Options or Apple CarPlay Options to enable the intended phone. The US ccNC Lite Android screen uses Enable Android Auto.

Removing your Hyundai from CarPlay deletes its saved CarPlay registration. For a persistent CarPlay connection failure on ccNC, open Settings > General > CarPlay on your iPhone, select the Hyundai, and tap Forget This Car. Remove the Bluetooth pairing from both sides as described above, then register the phone again through Add New.

A supported wired connection can bypass a wireless projection problem. For wired Android Auto, use a suitable data cable shorter than one meter without a hub or extension, replacing a failing cable. For wired CarPlay, use the vehicle’s CarPlay-capable USB port; not every USB port supports data.

Update the phone and vehicle software

On iPhone, back up your phone, connect it to power and Wi-Fi, then open Settings > General > Software Update. Tap Download and Install when an update is offered. On Galaxy devices using Samsung’s UK interface, open Settings > Software update > Check for updates and follow the displayed installation instructions; carrier labels vary.

For your vehicle, open Hyundai’s official software download page and search by VIN or vehicle type. Select the software and installation instructions for your navigation or Display Audio system. Navigation media and Display Audio package formats differ, so follow the instructions for your vehicle.

For supported navigation systems, choose Download and use Navigation Updater for your selected vehicle. Select Copy to USB when needed, or prepare the SD media specified for your system. Keep power stable and leave the update media inserted throughout installation. Insert the prepared media, then on supported Gen5W update screens open Setup > General > SW Info/Update > Update.

For supported non-navigation Display Audio systems, download the vehicle-specific package. Follow its packaging instructions: either copy two ZIP files without extraction or place the extracted DAUDIO folder at the USB root, as directed. Keep the vehicle powered and the USB inserted until installation finishes. Insert the USB, open All menus > Setup > General > SW Info/Update > Update, then select Yes.

Reserve phone settings resets for persistent failures

A Galaxy Wi-Fi and Bluetooth reset resets those connection settings, so you will need to reconnect Wi-Fi and pair Bluetooth devices afterward. On Galaxy devices with the separate reset option, open Settings > General management > Reset > Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings. Tap Reset settings, enter credentials if requested, then tap Reset. Reconnect Wi-Fi and pair your Bluetooth devices again.

Apple says resetting all iPhone settings is rarely necessary. It preserves personal content but resets Bluetooth pairings, Wi-Fi, privacy preferences, Apple Pay cards, and other settings. To proceed after the earlier fixes fail, open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset, tap Reset All Settings, then pair the Hyundai again.

Run diagnostics and get help with persistent faults

On Pixel 6 and newer, including Fold, open Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth diagnostics and review the results. With Samsung Members installed on a Galaxy device, open Samsung Members, select Support > Get started, then select Bluetooth for an individual test and review its results.

Contact an authorized Hyundai dealer if pairing again, restarting, and software updates do not resolve the problem. If your infotainment system will not power on and may have a fuse fault, Hyundai directs you to an auto service shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Bluetooth PIN should you use for a Hyundai?

Use the passkey shown by your system. On the button-operated radio covered by Hyundai’s 2025 US4 manual, enter 0000 only when its passkey-entry screen displays that code; when six-digit authentication codes appear, compare them instead.

How can you stop your Hyundai from choosing the wrong phone automatically?

On compatible Australian Gen5W systems, open SETUP > Phone connection > Phone connections, then hold the device’s reorder handle and drag it up or down. Display Audio Gen2V systems with the Canadian English interface and priority controls use All Menus > Setup > Device Connections > Bluetooth > Auto Connection Priority.

Can renaming an iPhone help when several phones have connected to the car?

Apple suggests giving your iPhone a distinct name when multiple phones have connected to the stereo. Open Settings > General > About > Name, enter a different name, then reconnect to the vehicle.

Why does music stay off after the vehicle starts even though Bluetooth is connected?

On US ccNC, the Media Off at Vehicle Startup setting controls that playback behavior. Open Setup > General > Media Options and disable Media Off at Vehicle Startup if connected media does not resume when the vehicle starts.
