Check the cable and connection method
Fully insert a working USB data cable into the controller and PC. Try another cable, then a rear motherboard USB port. GameSir recommends these checks for the G7 SE and G7 HE, and they also help isolate USB connection faults.
For a G7 Pro WUCHANG wireless connection, insert its receiver, move the switch to 2.4G, and press Xbox. For a wired connection, fully seat the cable and press Xbox to power on. Use these PC connection methods rather than assuming Bluetooth provides native PC XInput.
On a Super Nova, red flashing indicates that the battery is below 15%. Charge it through USB-C or its dock, then press Home to wake it. To check its wired connection, connect a USB cable with the mode switch in any position.
Select the correct PC input mode
On a connected G7 SE or G7 HE, hold Home + M for 3 seconds to restore the original device identification, then unplug and reconnect it. If it still fails to work, hold Home + Share for 3 seconds while connected to force a switch between XInput and GIP modes.
For Kaleid, Kaleid Flux, T7, T7 Pro W and T7 Pro Retro Green Wired, hold Xbox + M for 3 seconds while connected, then reconnect. If that does not help, hold Xbox + Share for 3 seconds. Use these combinations only for the listed models.
With a Nova Lite, Nova Lite 2, Super Nova, Cyclone 2 or Tarantula Pro connected through USB or its receiver, hold View + Menu to cycle input modes. Stop at XInput mode; on the Nova Lite, Nova Lite 2, Cyclone 2 and Tarantula Pro, XInput shows a green indicator. If the receiver has not paired, complete the pairing steps next.
Pair the wireless receiver again
For Nova Lite 2 and Tarantula Pro, insert the supplied receiver and press its pairing button. Hold Logo + X until the controller flashes green, then wait for pairing. Alternatively, hold Logo with the Screenshot or Share button for 3 seconds.
On the original Nova Lite, hold Home + Screenshot for 2 seconds until it flashes rapidly. For a receiver connection, also hold the receiver’s pairing button. On a Cyclone 2 with a slowly blinking connection indicator, hold Home + Share for 2 seconds and also hold the receiver’s pairing button.
For a Super Nova reconnecting to its previously paired receiver, insert the receiver into the PC or charging dock and select receiver mode on the controller. If both indicators flash rapidly, press the receiver’s pairing button once and restart the controller.
Repair a Bluetooth connection in Windows
Use these steps only with a controller that supports the intended Bluetooth mode. Fully charge it, turn it off and on, move it near the PC, and retry pairing. On Windows 11, open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices and turn on Bluetooth; if it is already on, turn it off for 10 seconds and back on.
Open the taskbar Quick settings and turn off Airplane mode. Move the controller away from nearby unshielded USB 3.0 devices to reduce interference. If the controller is absent from discovery results, on Windows 11 open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices > Device settings and set Bluetooth devices discovery to Advanced.
Removing the controller deletes its saved Bluetooth pairing. On Windows 11, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices, select More options beside the controller, choose Remove device, then select Yes. Put the controller into its model-specific pairing mode and add it again.
For Bluetooth connections that repeatedly drop, open Device Manager > Bluetooth, then open your adapter’s Properties > Power Management. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. If your adapter does not expose that tab, continue with the driver checks below.
Fix input problems in Steam
If the controller connects but games do not respond, open Steam > Settings > Controller > Test Device Inputs and select Start Test. For a connected generic or HID controller, under External Gamepad Settings, turn on Enable Steam Input for Generic Gamepads. This can help when Bluetooth pairing succeeds but a game lacks compatible native input.
A game with native controller support may instead have trouble with Steam Input translation. Right-click that game in your Steam Library, open Properties > Controller, and choose Disable Steam Input. Use this for a controller that already connects to Windows.
When the controller produces mouse or keyboard actions instead of expected game input, open Steam > Settings > Controller > Desktop Layout > Edit. Select Disable Steam Input there to stop the desktop mapping from intercepting input.
Use the matching app and firmware
Enter your exact controller model on GameSir’s Software Downloads page and follow its matching app link. Nexus covers listed Xbox-licensed models, including G7 SE, G7 HE, G7 Pro, Kaleid, Kaleid Flux and T7 variants. Connect covers listed PC models such as Cyclone 2, Super Nova and Nova Lite 2, while the original Nova Lite uses GameSir App.
For a Connect-supported controller, connect through USB or the receiver in XInput mode so the app can recognize it. Select the upper-right update icon for normal firmware updates. Use the receiver connection to update receiver firmware and a cable connection to update controller firmware.
On Cyclone 2, update both the receiver and controller with compatible current firmware. Connect through the receiver for its update, then connect the controller by USB for the controller update.
For an original Nova Lite whose receiver connection stays in red mode, update the controller through GameSir App on a phone. If that does not resolve the problem, use its model-specific receiver update route next.
Using GameSir Connect to update the original Nova Lite receiver can brick it. Follow the original Nova Lite receiver update instructions linked from GameSir’s Nova Lite firmware page. Do not substitute the Nova Lite 2 receiver updater.
Repair the Windows driver
For a G7 Pro driver problem, open Device Manager, right-click the controller and select Update Driver. Select Browse my computer for drivers, then select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer. Choose the latest matching entry and select Next.
The matching G7 Pro entry depends on its polling rate: Xbox 360 Controller for Windows at 1000Hz, or Xbox Gaming Device at 250/500Hz. Match the entry to that rate when selecting the driver. If the affected controller or Bluetooth adapter still malfunctions, try reinstalling that device’s driver.
Uninstalling the affected device removes its current driver installation. Right-click Start, open Device Manager, locate the affected controller or Bluetooth adapter, then right-click it and select Uninstall device followed by Uninstall. Restart your computer so Windows attempts to reinstall the driver.
For unresolved Windows 11 Bluetooth problems, open Start > Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates. Install available updates, then open Start > Power > Restart.
Reset model settings or get hardware help
Resetting a Nova Lite, Nova Lite 2, Super Nova or Cyclone 2 clears its custom settings. Hold Logo + Menu for 5 seconds until you see two green flashes, then retry pairing. Use this reset only for those models.
For a G7 Pro whose indicator is on but whose input does not register, hold Home + M for 4 seconds. A G7 Pro WUCHANG with incorrect mappings or settings has a separate profile reset.
The G7 Pro WUCHANG profile reset clears its profiles and settings. Hold View + Menu + M until the Xbox indicator blinks.
If the hardware remains unresponsive or firmware compatibility is uncertain, contact GameSir at [email protected] for model-specific recovery or hardware assistance. You can also open GameSir’s support site, select Contact Us, then under the Product & Technical Support heading, choose AI Support for a help entry point, or select Product Manuals or Video Tutorials for your exact model.
