To find your uploaded videos on Facebook, open your profile and select Reels, then use Activity Log to find older video posts. Start with the profile you used to upload the video. For uploads posted to a group, Page, event or story, check that original location too.

Meta now treats newly posted videos as reels regardless of their length or orientation. The main Video tab has been renamed Reels, but you should also check your original posts for historical uploads.

The short version

  • Start on your profile: Open Reels to browse your shared uploads.
  • Find older posts: Open Activity Log and narrow your activity by date.
  • Check the original location: Look in the group, event, Page or story archive where you posted the video.
  • Check moved posts: Hidden posts, archived posts and recently trashed posts have separate locations.
  • Keep a copy: Export your account information to browse uploaded media on your device.

Open your profile and browse Reels

On a computer, start from Feed and click your profile picture at the upper left. Click Reels below your profile picture, then open the upload you want.

In the Facebook app for Android or iPhone, tap your profile picture at the upper left of Feed. Tap Reels beside Photos, then open your video. In Facebook Lite or a mobile browser, start from the same profile picture in Feed, tap Reels beside Posts, then open the upload.

For an older upload, also open your profile and browse its original posts. Meta says previously shared video content remains on its originating profile or Page when it is still available. If you cannot find an upload in the reels grid, check those posts and your activity history.

Use Activity Log to find older uploads

On the desktop website, click your profile picture and open Settings & Privacy > Activity Log. Under Your Facebook activity, open Posts, then select Your posts, photos and videos. Browse the entries for the post containing your upload.

To narrow older uploads by date, open Activity history within Activity Log. Click Date, select a year under Year, optionally select a month, then click Save Changes. Under Activity Type, select Your activity across Facebook to review your posts.

On Android, open Menu, then Options below your profile picture. Open Activity Log, then select Manage Your Posts. Open Filters and choose Categories, Date or People to narrow the entries, then locate the video post.

On iPhone, open Menu and tap your name. Open Options below your profile picture, then Activity Log, and select Your activity across Facebook. Select the activity to review, then open Filters > Categories or Filters > Date. For dates, choose Start Date and End Date, then tap Done.

Search by caption or check the original album

If you remember distinctive words from the caption, use Facebook search on the desktop website. Click Search at the upper left and enter words from the post, optionally adding your name. Review the results and narrow them with the filters in the left column.

If you added the video to an album, check that specific album on a computer. Click your profile picture, then your name, and open Photos > Albums. Open the album containing the upload, including a shared album if that is where you added it.

Check hidden posts Archive and Trash

For a video post you hid from your profile, click your profile picture on desktop and open Settings & Privacy > Activity Log. Under Your Facebook activity, open Posts > Posts hidden from profile. To narrow the results, open Filters > Date > Year, then click Save Changes.

For a post you previously archived, use the Android app and tap your profile picture to open your profile. Open Options > Activity Log > Archive, then locate the video post. To narrow the entries, open Filters > Date, set the start and end dates, then tap Done.

For an eligible post you recently moved to the trash, tap your profile picture in the Android app and open Options > Activity Log > Trash. Look for the post before its 30-day deletion period ends. Hiding, archiving and moving a post to the trash are different actions, so check the location that matches what you did.

Look in the group Page or event

For a group upload, open your Facebook groups on a computer and select the group where you posted. Click Search on the right and enter your name or words from the post or its comments. Use the filters on the left to narrow the results to content you can access.

If you uploaded as a Page, click your profile photo on desktop, open See all profiles and select the Page. Go to the Page and scroll to the original video or reel post. This route requires Facebook access to that Page.

For an event upload on desktop, open Events from Feed, using See More first when needed. For an event you host, select Your Events > Hosting, open the event and browse its timeline for the video post. Media in a private event requires access to that event.

Find video stories in Story Archive

To find a previously archived video story on desktop, click your profile picture in the left menu of Feed. Open Options > Story Archive, then locate the video story. In the Android app, open Menu > Options > Archive > Story Archive, then find the story.

To preserve future stories automatically on Android, open Menu > Options > Archive > Story archive > Settings, then enable Save to archive. On desktop, open your profile, then Options > Story archive > Settings. Under Story Archive Setting, click Turn On Story Archive. Turning this on does not recover expired stories that were never archived.

Find a Live replay before it expires

On a computer, click your profile picture at the upper left of Feed, then click Reels. Open the retained Live video in your video library. To keep a local copy, open the video's upper-right menu and choose Download Video.

Meta says Facebook removes new Live replays after 30 days and also removes older archived broadcasts through its notification process. Save a retained replay before it expires if you want to keep it. This retention policy applies to Live broadcasts, not ordinary uploaded videos.

Export your uploads to browse on your device

For a local copy of media from an active personal profile, click your profile picture on desktop and open Settings & privacy > Settings > Meta Account. Open Your information and permissions > Export your information > Create export. Select the profile, then choose Export to device. Accounts awaiting the navigation change may show Accounts Center instead of Meta Account.

Choose the information and dates to include, select HTML and your preferred media quality, then click Start export. Complete verification and retrieve the file through Available downloads within four days of it becoming ready. Extract the ZIP file and open its index file in a browser to browse the exported information.

An export cannot recover permanently deleted content. If you still cannot find an upload, possible causes include audience restrictions, removal, copyright enforcement or technical problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I find my uploaded videos through Saved or Liked?

Yes, if you previously saved or liked the upload. On desktop, click your name in the left column of Feed, open Reels, then select Saved Reels and open the saved upload. On Android, open Menu, then Reels above Details, and tap Saved or Liked to locate it. These lists are not a complete upload library.

Where should I look for a video I sent privately?

On desktop, open Messenger > Search Messenger and search for the recipient, conversation name or remembered words. To search inside a conversation, open Messenger in the left menu, open the conversation, then open its upper-right menu, choose Search and enter a keyword. This can locate privately sent videos or upload links shared in a chat.

Can Facebook Memories help me find an old video?

Yes, when Facebook resurfaces the original video post as a memory. On desktop, click Memories in the left menu of Feed and check the posts shown for that day. It is an occasional shortcut rather than a complete collection of uploads.

Where are video drafts and scheduled posts for a Facebook Page?

With the relevant Page access, open Meta Business Suite and choose Content > Posts & reels > Drafts for unfinished Page posts, or Content > Posts & reels > Scheduled for scheduled posts. Scheduled posts also appear in the Planner calendar. Check these locations when the video was saved as a draft or scheduled rather than published.

Can I export my uploaded media to another service?

Yes, though available destinations and media types vary. On desktop, click your profile picture, open Settings & privacy > Settings > Meta Account > Your information and permissions > Export your information > Create export, select the profile, then choose Next > Export to external service. Select a service, click Next, select a frequency, click Next, then click Connect. Complete the sign-in and password prompts, customize the export, click Start export, then browse the destination after completion.
