Trying to open your AT&T router settings and getting nowhere? Start by connecting to its network and opening the default gateway address, 192.168.1.254. If that doesn’t open the page, use the steps below to find the address on your phone or computer and access the settings.

Open your AT&T gateway settings

For AT&T Internet and Fiber gateways including the BGW320, BGW210, Pace 5268AC, NVG599, and NVG589, the default address is http://192.168.1.254. The Internet Air CGW450 uses this address too.

Connect your phone or computer to the AT&T gateway’s network.

Enter http://192.168.1.254 directly in your browser’s address bar. This opens the Gateway User Interface, also called the gateway home page or web management interface.

For a BGW830, connect to the gateway’s Wi-Fi.

Open https://192.168.1.254. AT&T specifies HTTPS for this model.

Enter the Device Access Code from the gateway’s label when requested. If you customized the code, use your replacement.

On the BGW830, select Continue after entering the code.

Check your connection if the address doesn’t open

A connection through a separate router, mesh system, or VPN is the first thing to check when the default address won’t open your AT&T settings.

Connect directly to the AT&T gateway’s network before trying its address again.

On a BGW530, press the physical Wi-Fi button if its light is off.

Connect using the hub’s Wi-Fi credentials or its Wi-Fi QR code.

If 192.168.1.254 still doesn’t open, find the actual gateway address using the phone or computer instructions below. A customized LAN configuration changes the address you need.

Look for the router or default gateway value. Your device’s own IP address, its DNS server address, and your public internet IP are different values.

When you’re directly connected to the AT&T gateway, the default gateway identifies that local router. Behind another router or a VPN, don’t assume that value belongs to your AT&T gateway.

Find the address on your phone

On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings > Wi-Fi, labeled WLAN in some regions.

Open the connected network’s details.

Read the address beside Router.

On Android, open Settings > Wi-Fi or WLAN. The exact path varies by manufacturer.

Select the details icon beside your connected network.

Look for Gateway. If your phone doesn’t display this field, use a connected computer to find the address.

Enter the router or gateway address in your browser’s address bar.

Use the details for the AT&T network you’re currently connected to.

Read the default gateway in Windows

On Windows 11 or Windows 10, search for Command Prompt and open it. Reading the gateway address doesn’t change your network settings.

Run ipconfig. Find Default Gateway under the active Wi-Fi or Ethernet adapter. Enter that IPv4 address in your browser.

Prefer a graphical route? Open Control Panel and choose Category. Follow Network and Internet > View network status and tasks.

Select your active connection. Open Details. Read IPv4 Default Gateway for the address to enter in your browser.

Locate the router address on a Mac

On macOS Ventura or later, the router address is in System Settings. These steps work with the Wi-Fi or Ethernet service connected to your AT&T gateway.

Open the Apple menu > System Settings > Network.

Select the connected network service.

Open Details > TCP/IP.

Read the router address.

Enter that address in your browser’s address bar to open the local settings.

Reach the Wi-Fi controls

From the gateway interface on a CGW450 or BGW530, select Home Network > Wi-Fi. On a BGW620, AT&T says you can also update Wi-Fi from the All-Fi Hub settings, and its guide lists Home Network > Mac Filtering and Firewall > NAT/Gaming for advanced controls.

Enter the Device Access Code when requested.

On a CGW450 or BGW530, select Advanced Options for additional wireless controls.

Match these menu paths to your gateway model, since the controls differ between models.

Use Smart Home Manager for everyday changes

With an eligible AT&T account and compatible equipment, change your Wi-Fi name or password without finding the router IP.

  1. 1.Open Smart Home Manager and sign in.
  2. 2.Find My Wi-Fi.
  3. 3.Select Change beside the network name or password.
  4. 4.Select X and enter the replacement.
  5. 5.Select Save.
  6. 6.Reconnect your devices after changing the Wi-Fi credentials.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I forgot a customized Device Access Code?

AT&T’s recovery method is a factory reset, which erases customized settings. Record those settings first, then follow your model’s reset instructions. After reconnecting, use the factory Device Access Code printed on the gateway. Reserve a factory reset for recovery.

Does scanning the Wi-Fi QR code unlock the settings?

No. On the BGW530, the QR code connects you to Wi-Fi. It does not open or authenticate the administrator interface, and protected settings still require the Device Access Code.

Does All-Fi Hub always mean Internet Air?

No. The BGW620 is an All-Fi Hub for wired home internet and Fiber. The All-Fi name alone does not identify an Internet Air device.
