To download your Snapchat account data, sign in at accounts.snapchat.com, select My Data, choose your categories and dates, check your notification email address, and click Submit, then select See exports and Download when the archive is ready. Extract the downloaded ZIP to access its contents. You can complete this process in a web browser without installing Snapchat, and if you run into problems, Snapchat suggests downloading your data from a computer rather than a mobile device.

For saved photos and videos, you can request a Memories-only archive or export selected Memories directly from the app. Sign in only through Snapchat’s own app or website, and never share a code, password, or remote access with someone who contacts you.

The short version

  • Account archive: Sign in to the account portal and select My Data to start your request.
  • Date coverage: Disable the date filter to request all available dates.
  • Finished export: Follow the notification email or return to the portal, then select See exports and select Download.
  • Photos and videos: Choose a Memories-only archive for your collection or export selected Snaps in the app.

Open the Snapchat account portal

Open the official Snapchat data portal and sign in. You can also sign in at accounts.snapchat.com and click My Data. If you run into problems, Snapchat suggests downloading your data from a computer rather than a mobile device.

To begin from the Snapchat mobile app, open your Profile and tap the gear icon to open Settings. Under Account Actions, select My Data, then continue with the browser export procedure below. You can also open the browser portal directly to skip the app’s settings.

Choose your data and date range

Select the data categories you want to include, then choose your date range. To request data across all available dates, disable the date filter. Check the notification email address, then click Submit to send your request.

Download and extract the account archive

When your export is ready, follow the link in the notification email or return to the account portal and select My Data. Select See exports, then select Download. Extract the downloaded ZIP to access the archive’s contents.

Request a Memories only archive

For a download focused on saved Memories, sign in at accounts.snapchat.com and select My Data. Under Select data to include, enable Export your Memories, then click Request Only Memories. You can also reach this request through the app by following the settings path above and selecting My Data.

Choose the dates you want and check the notification email address. Click Submit to send the request. When the export is ready, select See exports and then select Download.

Extract the ZIP and open index.html from the extracted archive. Click Memories to reach your saved media. From there, download individual Memories or the entire collection.

Export selected Memories in the app

To download a particular saved Snap, swipe upward from the Camera screen to open Memories. Press and hold the Snap, tap Export, and choose its download destination. This downloads the selected media rather than your account-information archive.

For several saved Snaps, tap the selector icon at the top of Memories. Select the Snaps you want, then use the export options at the bottom.

Request data from a locked account

If your account is locked or your device is banned, try the account portal from a desktop browser. Sign in at accounts.snapchat.com and click My Data. Snapchat says some locked account types cannot supply data, so this route depends on whether portal access and export remain available for your account.

Choose the categories and dates, or disable date filtering for all available dates. Check your notification email address and click Submit. Once processing finishes, follow the email link or return to the portal, select See exports, and select Download.

Get help with an unresolved data request

If the self-service tools do not resolve your access or portability request, open Snapchat’s privacy FAQ and find How can I exercise my privacy rights?. Follow the linked form to request assistance. This is a support route rather than an immediate archive download, and requests are subject to regional eligibility and identity verification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a parent or legal guardian request a teen’s Snapchat data?

Parents and legal guardians can help a teen aged 13 to 17 complete the download through the teen’s authenticated account, depending on location. For additional assistance, first connect with the teen through Family Center, then follow the online form link in Snapchat’s parent privacy-request help article. This is a request process, not a separate archive-download button in Family Center.

How can you save future Snaps to your phone?

Open My Account and tap the gear icon to open Settings, then under App & Privacy, tap My App. Under Customize My App, tap Memories, tap Save Button, and select Memories & Camera Roll or Camera Roll. Use the save button when saving a Snap. This setting applies to future saves and does not export existing account history or bulk-download existing Memories.

Where can you get Snapchat for the app-based export options?

Open the official Snapchat download page. Under Get Snapchat on Your Phone, select the App Store or Google Play badge to reach the corresponding official app-store listing.

How can you appeal a denied privacy-rights request?

For an eligible denied request, follow the instructions supplied with the denial. Alternatively, in Snapchat’s privacy FAQ, find My privacy rights request was denied, how can I appeal? and follow the linked form. Denial appeals are available in certain US states.
