Create your list on the Amazon website
Sign in to Amazon's US desktop website and hover over Account & Lists. Under Your Lists, select Create a List. Enter a name for your wishlist, then select Create List.
You can also start from the lists page on the US or UK Amazon website. Select Account & Lists, open Your Lists, and select Create a List. Enter the name and select Create List to finish.
Create your list in the Shopping app
If you need the Android app, open Amazon Shopping on Google Play, confirm the publisher is Amazon Mobile LLC, and select Install on a compatible device. For iPhone or iPad, download Amazon Shopping from the App Store, published by AMZN Mobile LLC. Open the app and sign in, then follow the path that matches your layout.
If your app has a person icon, select it to open Me. Select Lists, select + at the upper right, and enter a list name. Select Create List to finish. Another person-icon layout lets you select Your Lists to reach your lists.
If your app has a lists entry in the main menu, select the three-horizontal-lines icon at the bottom right, then select Lists. Select + or Create a List, depending on the displayed control, enter a name, and select Create List.
In the UK app layout that groups lists under a separate menu category, select the three-horizontal-lines icon at the bottom right and scroll to find Your Stuff. Select Your Lists, then select +. Enter your list name and select Create List.
Create a list from a product page
When a product page offers the list dropdown beneath its purchase information, open Add to List, which may appear as Add to list in the UK layout. Select Create another list, enter a name, and complete the creation dialog. After creating the list, use the product's list control to choose where to save the item.
Add products and organize saved items
Open an eligible item's product details page on the Amazon website or in the Shopping app, then select Add to List. Use the dropdown to choose your new wishlist when a destination selector appears. Selecting Add to List without choosing a destination saves the item to your default list.
On shopping screens with a heart beside an item's image, select the heart to save that product to your default list. To review saved items in the app, open Me and select Lists, or select the person icon and open Your Lists. Use the heart to save products to your default list after creating your named wishlist.
If an item landed in another list, open that source list and locate the product. Select the item's three-dot menu, choose Move, and select your new wishlist as the destination. You can use the same steps to gather previously saved products into your new list.
If you're in the US and have Lens Live enabled in Amazon Shopping on iOS or Android, you can also save products from camera matches. Select the camera or Lens icon in the search bar, then point the camera at an item. Select the item in the camera view to focus the matches, then select the heart on a matching product to save it to your wishlist.
Choose privacy and a delivery address
Open a list you own, select its three-dot menu, and choose Manage List. Edit List name and choose the desired Privacy setting. Set a shipping or delivery address if gifts should be sent to you, then select Save Changes.
Depending on your layout, you may see Manage list and an address field labeled Shipping Address or Delivery Address. Review these settings before inviting gift-givers so your list has the name, privacy, and destination you intend.
Share your wishlist with other people
Open Your Lists, select a wishlist you own, and select + Invite. Choose View only for gift-givers or View and edit for people who should help manage the list. Copy the sharing link or select Invite by email.
Depending on your device, you may also be able to send an invitation by text, select More to use another communication app, or select Send list to others. Sharing a list set to Private changes it to Shared, so review that choice before sending an invitation.
Use Alexa with your list
For an existing retail wishlist that displays Alexa permissions, open the three-dot menu and select Manage list. Under Manage list with Alexa, select Alexa can add items to your list or Alexa can add items and read your list. Select Save Changes to apply the permission.
On an Alexa-enabled device that supports Lists, activate Alexa, say Create a list, and provide the requested name. Confirm where the resulting list is stored before using it as a gift wishlist. Do not assume every Alexa-created custom list is an ordinary shareable Amazon retail Wish List.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you still use Amazon Assistant to save products from other websites?
You can no longer use the Amazon Assistant extension because Amazon discontinued it on March 28, 2023. Your previously created lists and previously saved external products remain accessible.
Is an ordinary Amazon Wish List the same as a baby or wedding registry?
Your ordinary Amazon retail List is separate from a baby or wedding registry. Amazon also treats Birthday and Custom Gift Lists as distinct features.
Which iPhones and iPads can download Amazon Shopping?
You need iOS 16.0 or later on iPhone, or iPadOS 16.0 or later on iPad, under the current US App Store requirements. If you use Android, Google Play determines whether your device is compatible.
Where can you create a custom list in the Alexa app?
In the Alexa app, open More, select Lists & Notes, then select Create List. This creates an Alexa custom list, so treat it as a separate list type rather than assuming it is an ordinary Amazon retail wishlist.
