You joined the Hilton Wi-Fi network, but the login page is not opening or the room login is not going through. The fix is to connect to the hotel network, complete the captive portal, then reset the saved network or DNS path when the portal gets stuck. Start with the room login, then use the device-specific steps that match what you are using.

Connect through the Hilton room login page

Join the Wi-Fi network shown by the property, such as Hilton Honors, hhonors, or the guest network named by the hotel. The exact network name changes by property and network provider.

When the Hilton-branded login page opens, look for ENTER YOUR LAST NAME AND ROOM NUMBER TO CONNECT. Enter Last Name and Room Number, then select Connect.

If the page does not open or the login fails, forget the saved Hilton network and rejoin it, or open a plain HTTP page in a private browser window to trigger the portal again.

Use your Hilton Honors account for Wi-Fi benefits

Hilton Honors members get standard Wi-Fi during eligible stays booked through a Hilton direct channel, such as Hilton.com, the Hilton Honors app, Hilton Reservations, or the hotel directly, or through an IATA-accredited travel agent using a designated GDS. Stays booked through opaque sites, third-party packages, or other non-direct channels do not receive on-property benefits, including Wi-Fi. Hilton lists Complimentary in-room and lobby standard WiFi internet access for Silver and Gold members, with exclusions for meeting spaces, properties with resort fees, and certain partner accommodations.

To join online, go to HiltonHonors.com, choose Join, fill in Name, Phone, Email, Country/Region, Zip, and Password, then select Join for Free.

In the Hilton Honors app, choose Join for Free, complete Name, Phone, Email, Password, and Address, then select Join for Free. To install it first, open Hilton’s app page and select Download the app.

Diamond members receive Premium Wi-Fi, and Diamond Reserve members receive Complimentary Premium Wi-Fi. If your tier does not include premium access, use the portal’s paid premium option when the property offers one.

Sign in on a phone or tablet

Use these steps when the Hilton portal needs to open on iPhone, iPad, or Android.

  1. 1.On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap Wi-Fi, then tap the Hilton network name.
  2. 2.If the login page does not appear, tap the More Info button next to the network, then tap Join Network.
  3. 3.On Android, open Settings, tap Network & internet, tap Internet, turn on Wi-Fi, then tap the Hilton network.
  4. 4.When the sign-in screen or captive portal notification appears, enter the Hilton portal’s requested room, guest, or member details.

Connect on Windows or Mac

This fixes the laptop issue where Wi-Fi connects but internet access waits for the hotel portal.

On a Mac, open the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar and choose the Hilton hotel network.

If the Mac asks for a Wi-Fi password or terms, enter the password provided by the property or agree to the terms.

When the captive page opens, enter the Hilton portal’s requested last name, room number, or account details.

On Windows, select the Network icon on the taskbar, choose the Hilton Wi-Fi network, then select Connect.

Enter the network password when the hotel provides one, select Next, then choose Yes or No for device discoverability.

If Windows detects the captive portal, it opens the browser so you can finish the Hilton login page.

Make the Hilton Wi-Fi portal appear again

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap Wi-Fi, tap the More Info button next to the Hilton network, and turn on Auto-Join. If the page stays hidden, use Forget This Network, then join the Hilton network again.

On Mac, open the Apple menu, choose System Settings, click Wi-Fi, scroll to Advanced, click the More Options button next to the Hilton network, choose Remove From List, then click Forget. Rejoin the Hilton network from the Wi-Fi menu.

On Windows, open Settings, select Network & internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks, select the Hilton network, and click Forget. Connect to the network again and complete the portal when it appears.

On Android, open Settings, tap Network & internet > Internet, make sure Wi-Fi is on, touch and hold the saved Hilton network, then tap Forget. Rejoin the Hilton network and complete the sign-in page again.

Open a plain HTTP page when nothing loads

This applies when your device says it is connected to Hilton Wi-Fi, but no login window or browser tab appears. A plain HTTP page triggers the hotel’s captive portal redirect.

After joining the Hilton network, open a private or incognito browser window and go to http://neverssl.com.

If the Hilton portal loads, complete the login there.

Other commonly used captive-check pages include captive.apple.com, www.msftconnecttest.com/connecttest.txt, and google.com/generate_204.

If a router login page appears, do not enter router admin credentials.

Turn off custom DNS for the Hilton portal

The most common cause is a custom DNS, Private DNS, or VPN-like DNS setting that stops the captive portal redirect from loading normally.

On Mac, go to System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi > Details beside the Hilton network > DNS, then remove alternate DNS servers.

On Windows 11, go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi > Hardware properties, select Edit next to DNS server assignment, choose Automatic, then select Save.

On iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the information icon beside the Hilton network, open Configure DNS, and choose Automatic.

On a Samsung Galaxy phone, go to Settings > Connections > More connection settings > Private DNS, choose Off or Automatic, then tap Save.

On Pixel and other stock Android phones, go to Settings > Network & internet > Private DNS, then choose Automatic. Menu names vary by manufacturer, so search Settings for Private DNS if you do not see it. Turn Wi-Fi off and on, then try the Hilton portal again.

Connect a Chromebook or streaming device

On a Chromebook, select the time at the bottom right.

Choose Not Connected, turn on Wi-Fi, choose the Hilton Wi-Fi network, then select Connect.

When ChromeOS prompts you to open a sign-in page in the browser, complete the Hilton portal there.

For Apple TV 4K, go to Settings > Network, then select Continue on iPhone or iPad when Apple TV detects the captive network.

On Roku, press Home, open Settings, select Network, choose Set up new wireless connection, pick the Hilton network, then choose I am at a hotel or college dorm. Finish the remaining authentication steps on the TV using a computer or smartphone browser.

For PlayStation Portal, finish the console’s initial setup first, because public network support requires it, then update the system software, connect to the Hilton public Wi-Fi network, scan the QR code shown when extra validation is required, and complete the Hilton sign-in in the mobile browser. A small number of public networks are still unsupported.

Skip MAC address spoofing and alternate MAC workarounds; use the device’s hotel, captive portal, QR, or companion-phone sign-in option.

Check work and school device restrictions

This applies when the Hilton portal never appears on a managed iPhone or iPad from your workplace or school. A device policy can block captive network detection.

Ask the administrator whether the Wi-Fi configuration disables captive network detection.

When that setting is enabled on iOS or iPadOS, the device does not get the normal chance to join networks that require agreements or other information before access.

The practical fix is to have the administrator change or remove the policy so the Hilton captive portal can open.

If that is not possible during the trip, use a personal device for the hotel Wi-Fi login.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the usual Hilton hotel Wi-Fi login information?

Hilton-branded captive portals commonly ask for your last name and room number, followed by Connect. Some properties use member or account fields instead.

Do I need Hilton Honors to use Hilton Wi-Fi?

Hilton Honors membership includes standard Wi-Fi during eligible stays, with listed exclusions such as meeting spaces and properties with resort fees. The hotel portal still decides the exact sign-in screen.

Why does my device connect to Hilton Wi-Fi but say no internet?

The Wi-Fi link is active before the captive portal login is complete. Reopen the Hilton login page, forget and rejoin the network, or visit a plain HTTP page to force the sign-in screen.

Can I connect a Roku or Apple TV to Hilton hotel Wi-Fi?

Yes. Roku uses Hotel & Dorm Connect, and Apple TV 4K uses a captive-network flow that continues on an iPhone or iPad.
