The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a powerhouse, but when it refuses to connect to your computer, it can bring your workflow to a halt. Whether you're trying to transfer photos, sideload apps, or back up files, a broken USB connection is a real pain.

Most of the time, this isn't a hardware failure. It's usually something simple like a bad cable, a dirty port, or a driver that needs updating. Let's walk through the fixes that work.

The cable is usually the problem

Before you blame the phone, swap out the USB cable. I've seen countless connection issues vanish just by using a different cable. The Z Fold 7 uses USB-C, so you want a cable that supports data transfer, not just charging.

If you have the Samsung cable that came in the box, start with that. Third-party cables can be hit or miss. Also try plugging into a different USB port on your computer, preferably a USB 3.0 or higher port on the back of a desktop tower if you're using one.

Check the USB-C port for debris
