Xbox has announced a partnership with Swedish furniture giant IKEA on a new line of furniture aimed at gamers, with the two companies sharing a teaser for the upcoming collection. Those attending gamescom next week will likely get a first look at what Xbox and IKEA have been working on in person.
A teaser video shared on the official IKEA and Xbox Instagram accounts shows some of the products fans can expect. The footage reveals a plate-like object shaped like the 8-way D-pad on an Xbox wireless controller, followed by what appears to be a coffee table or stool modeled after a thumbstick.
The video also shows an Xbox-green cushion designed like a cross D-pad, according to Notebookcheck's coverage.
The collaboration arrives after IKEA has spent several years attempting to make gaming furniture look less garish, per Escapist Magazine. The Xbox-themed collection appears to draw on the console maker's controller design language.
Xbox announced the partnership in a joint post with IKEA, though specific product names, pricing, and availability details have not yet been revealed. The gamescom event next week should provide the full picture of what the two brands have been assembling.
