Toy Story 5 is the most-watched film on Disney+ during a premiere week, drawing 20 million views worldwide in its first five days of streaming, Disney says. The Disney and Pixar release also ranks among the top 10 theatrical film premieres on the service globally to date.

The sequel arrived on Disney+ this week after a summer theatrical run, and it has already passed $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Disney's announcement highlights Woody, Buzz and Jessie along with Lilypad.

The debut extends a franchise that has stayed near the top of the platform's charts. All four earlier Toy Story films rank among Disney+'s top 20 movies each year, and the series as a whole has passed 2 billion hours streamed on the service. Since the teaser trailer landed, Toy Story 5 has added 168 million hours of franchise viewing, according to the company.

Disney traces the series back to the 1995 original, and says the five films together have taken in more than $4 billion at the global box office. The company puts the franchise's total economic impact over three decades above $50 billion worldwide.

The streaming milestone lands days after another Disney release topped the charts. Avengers Endgame: Encore opened at No. 1 globally with an estimated $86 million, which Disney described as the second-highest worldwide debut ever for a re-release.

Disney says fans can find the characters at four immersive lands, 23 attractions and two themed hotels across Disney parks and cruise ships worldwide.
