October Prime Day 2026 runs Tuesday, October 6, and Wednesday, October 7. Amazon calls the sale Prime Big Deal Days, and it opens at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time on October 6, which is 3:01 a.m. Eastern. It is open to Prime members only.
You do not have to wait for Tuesday. Early deals are already live, and we are tracking the tech ones on our Prime Big Deal Days tech deals page, where every price is checked against Amazon before it is listed.

The dates and the drop times come from Amazon's own Prime Big Deal Days announcement. The sale lasts 48 hours, which is half the length of the four-day Prime Day that ran June 23 through June 26 this year.
Is October Prime Day the same as Prime Day
They are two separate sales, and both are for Prime members. Prime Day is Amazon's summer event, and it moved to June this year. Prime Big Deal Days is the autumn event that Amazon has held every October since 2022, when it was first called the Prime Early Access Sale. Most shoppers simply call it October Prime Day.
The October sale is shorter, and it lands just before the holiday shopping season.
What you need to shop the sale
You need a Prime membership. Amazon lists Prime at $14.99 a month or $139 a year, and eligible new members can start a 30-day free trial, which covers the whole sale.
Two cheaper plans also qualify. Prime for Young Adults costs $7.49 a month or $69 a year after a six-month trial, and Prime Access costs $6.99 a month after a 30-day trial for people who receive qualifying government assistance.
What is already on sale
Amazon starts discounting its own devices before the sale opens. Our price checks on October 2 found early deals from other brands too, with the largest tech discounts on robot vacuums, Ring and Blink security gear, Fire tablets, and Samsung monitors.
We list them, with the current price and the time it was last checked, on our page of early Prime Big Deal Days tech deals that are already live. More categories are added as their deals start.
How to tell a real deal from a fake one
A big percentage off means little if the price was raised first. Compare the sale price with what the product has actually sold for this year, not with the list price shown next to it.
Amazon says its Price History tool shows up to 365 days of pricing on a product page, and its Alexa for Shopping feature can set deal alerts and track price drops. On our deal pages a product is marked as the lowest price this year only when Amazon's own price data for 2026 shows nothing lower.
