NZXT is bringing back its entry-tier S series with two compact steel ATX mid-towers, the S5 RGB and S5 RGB Deluxe, announced today. Both ship with RGB cooling already installed and dual tempered glass panels, a combination the company is positioning as lit out of the box. The S5 RGB starts at $49.99 in the Americas and APAC, or €59.90 in EMEA, while the Deluxe runs $59.99 in the Americas and APAC and €69.90 in EMEA.
The two cases are expected at authorized retailers worldwide within one to two weeks, though NZXT gave no exact launch date or per-region timing beyond that window. Both come in all-white or all-black, with model numbers CC-S51FW-01 and CC-S51FB-01 for the S5 RGB and CC-S51FW-D1 and CC-S51FB-D1 for the Deluxe. A two-year warranty applies, matching the rest of NZXT's case lineup.
The difference between the two comes down to fans. The S5 RGB includes a single 360 mm RGB reverse fan unit mounted on the right side, its blades facing the glass, while the Deluxe adds two more units at the bottom and rear for five fans in total. Those Deluxe fans come pre-installed and pre-wired, with reverse-blade fans on the side and bottom and a standard forward-blade unit at the rear.
Both cases share one chassis, so dimensions, volume, materials, front I/O and clearances are identical. Inside, there is room for ATX, Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX motherboards, graphics cards up to 415 mm long and CPU coolers up to 162 mm tall. Buyers get ten fan mounts, radiator support up to 360 mm at the top and 120 mm at the rear, and a power supply bay that takes units up to 200 mm. The S5 RGB weighs 6.14 kg, with the Deluxe at 6.44 kg.
The front panel offers a USB-C port, two USB-A ports and a headset jack, and the panels come off without tools. NZXT says the case is designed to pair with its own fans, coolers and power supplies, and the company has been building cases, cooling, power supplies and prebuilt PCs since 2004. The launch follows NZXT's earlier teaser for the same pair, which framed the S series return as two versions of one steel ATX mid-tower and the Deluxe as arriving with its whole fan layout built and three planes lit.
Johnny Hou, CEO of NZXT, said the return had been planned for some time: "Bringing the S series back is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, and this is the moment builders need it most."
