NVIDIA has brought Gears of War: E-Day to GeForce NOW, letting players stream the prequel on devices including Macs, handhelds and laptops with limited computing power. The game is already available through the cloud service after its worldwide launch on Tuesday, October 6, with Steam and Xbox versions supported and access also available through Game Pass. Ultimate subscribers get cloud performance in the GeForce RTX 5080 class, alongside NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex.

Fire TV users will also get the option to buy GeForce NOW memberships through Amazon in the coming weeks, NVIDIA says. For players considering a premium subscription, NVIDIA offers a day pass whose cost can count toward their first monthly membership, though pricing was not disclosed. The pass lets players try premium cloud gaming before taking on a monthly subscription.

Gears of War: E-Day takes place 14 years before the original Gears of War and follows Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago during the arrival of the Locust Horde. Its modes span a campaign, cooperative play and competitive matches. NVIDIA says cloud access lets players use mobile devices and browsers, including Firefox, without downloading the full game or buying an expensive gaming computer.

NVIDIA’s additions for this week total 10 games, seven of them new releases. Alongside Gears of War: E-Day, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer launched on Steam on October 6, while Forever Ago and Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival have Steam releases today. Permafrost is scheduled to launch on Steam on Friday, October 9, and is among the games slated to join the service this week.

Those store launches do not guarantee simultaneous cloud access: NVIDIA says games enter GeForce NOW after release, with additions spread across the week. The Xbox version of Dune: Awakening missed its previously planned September arrival on GeForce NOW. Graveyard Keeper 2 and Solasta II are also among this week’s planned Steam additions.

The browser support follows NVIDIA’s August 18 introduction of official GeForce NOW access through Firefox on Windows, developed with Mozilla. That earlier rollout offered Ultimate subscribers streaming at up to 1440p and up to 120 frames per second. Separately, NVIDIA outlined plans last week to bring 25 games to GeForce NOW during October, with six available that week.
