Notion is overhauling Notion AI with longer agent tasks and two monthly credit allowances, while claiming its upgraded Auto model router cuts average costs by about 90% in testing. Each Business and Enterprise seat gets 1,500 Standard credits and 500 Select credits monthly under the new system. New customers start using it today, while existing customers switch on November 2.

Standard credits cover tasks for which Notion chooses the model; Select credits fund work with a user-selected model or Custom Agents. Admins can buy extra credits and decide how to distribute them across their workspace. Users can also begin building Custom Agents using their included Select allowance without first purchasing more credits.

Notion says keeping the allowances separate protects everyday Auto usage from being depleted by demanding tasks or frequently running Custom Agents. Its estimate is that most users will stay within their monthly allowances. Across more than 20 common use cases, the company says Auto produced results similar to Opus 5.5 and Astra while reducing average cost by about 90%.

Notion Agents can now spend more than 24 hours on one task, compared with the previous five-minute limit. Notion also reports agent speeds up to 50% faster across its mobile and web apps, alongside roughly 30% lower costs for Custom Agent runs during testing. The rebuilt infrastructure lets sessions continue through service restarts, while agents reduce repeated processing by condensing conversations and moving large tool outputs outside the context window.

People with ChatGPT Plus, Pro, or Go can now connect those subscriptions to their personal Notion Agent. That connection initially excludes Custom Agents, so the subscription option does not extend across both agent products. Enterprise customers can separately seek access to a private alpha of Bring Your Own Key (BYOK), which lets them supply a model-provider key.

Notion plans to introduce an AI Command Center where admins can monitor spending by member, feature and agent, receive credit-limit alerts and restrict model access. It will also let them cap member and agent spending and manage permission to create, pause or archive Custom Agents. A separate model checks proposed agent actions for safety through the new “Review for me” mode.
