Netflix is developing a Sesame Street film with Rideback and Sesame Workshop, and has extended its series deal with the workshop to keep delivering new seasons of the show through Season 62. The announcement also covers a batch of kids and preschool titles, including a Gabby's Dollhouse companion series and a new show called Puppy Pirates.
Sesame Street fans get more than the film. Season 57 Volume 4 arrives November 23, Volumes 5 and 6 are coming in 2027, and the licensed CGI animated series Mecha Builders lands October 26. The company says the extended deal sends Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby and friends on what it calls their biggest adventures yet.
The Gabby's Dollhouse world grows in two directions. Doozie's Doghouse, a mixed-media companion series built around Gabby's sister Doozie, premieres November 9. A month later, on December 9, Gabby's Dollhouse: Makers and Bakers debuts with four holiday-themed episodes hosted by Laila Lockhart Kraner as Gabby, with young baker-and-maker duos facing crafting and baking challenges judged by Aidy Bryant, Justin Willman and Melissa Villaseñor. More episodes are promised for 2027. Netflix says Gabby's Dollhouse Seasons 1-13 have drawn over 670 million views since 2024, and that Season 14 recently debuted at #4 on its Global Top 10 list and reached the top 10 in 63 countries.
Puppy Pirates, from creator Matthew Fernandes, follows four heroic hounds who sail the seas retrieving whatever has been lost, from treasure to stuffed toys. Bad Dinosaurs, from creators Joel Veitch, Alex Mallinson and David Shute, has been renewed for seasons 2 and 3 at eight episodes each. Netflix says the first season spent five weeks in its Global Top 10 and has accumulated nearly 55 million views since its 2024 debut.
Netflix Playground, the games app included with every Netflix membership for children ages 8 and under, adds three titles: a new Trash Truck mobile game on October 27, Numberblocks: Hide and Seek on September 29, and KPop Demon Hunters: Ready, Set Shine the same day. The app carries no in-app purchases or extra fees, and its games are playable offline once downloaded. Netflix says Playground has ranked among its ten most-played mobile games every week since launch.
The company also launched a low-stimulation collection for parents looking for slower pacing, softer visuals and predictable stories, listing Trash Truck, Puffin Rock and Llama Llama among the titles. Two auto-playing playlists, one for preschoolers and one for kids ages 5 to 8, are available now, and a new episode of the Bedtime Stories with Netflix Jr. podcast published this week with a story from The Creature Cases.
Heather Tilert, Vice President, Animation Series, Kids + Preschool, said the slate is meant to serve kids at every age and stage of development, adding that the goal is "building a place parents can feel good about". Netflix says kids and family viewing accounted for 15% of its total view hours in the first half of 2026 and has reached 106 billion hours since the start of 2023. The announcement does not disclose a release date or cast for the Sesame Street film, which remains in development.
