LG is bringing 8 Ball Pool to its Smart TVs and monitors this week, with free-to-play access in 165 countries for devices using webOS 6.0 or newer. The release introduces Couch Play Mode, which lets two people compete on one screen, and uses the LG Magic Remote to control shots. Optional items cost extra within the game.
The TV release comes through a partnership between LG and Miniclip and marks the first time 8 Ball Pool has been available on television screens. Players can find the game in LG Apps or in the LG Gaming Portal. LG and Miniclip are also offering items created specifically for LG TV players to mark the launch.
The webOS version adapts the interface for television play, letting users set their aim, choose shot power and take a shot with the LG Magic Remote. LG and Miniclip describe Couch Play Mode as exclusive to this release, with head-to-head matches intended for two players sharing the same television. Users of the LG Gaming Portal can earn rewards by finishing tasks, including badges displayed in My Page.
The addition arrives as LG's collection of games played through the web has passed 1,000 free-to-play titles. LG says that library tripled over two years, citing its own figures covering January 2024 through May 2026. The mobile version of 8 Ball Pool has exceeded 1 billion downloads worldwide and holds Guinness World Records recognition as the most-downloaded mobile pool game.
LG reports a 67 percent annual increase in overall gaming usage, alongside a 71 percent rise in hours spent playing and 50 percent more individual sessions. Those engagement figures come from internal measurements covering June 2025 through June 2026. LG expects 8 Ball Pool to increase engagement with its gaming platform.
For screens larger than 100 inches, LG says the game can display pool at real-world scale, including on its latest QNED evo and Micro RGB TVs. That size comparison uses a seven-foot pool table as its reference.
