Hatsune Miku ditches the rhythm game formula for a Mario Party-style competitive romp in Starry Party, announced for Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
Good Smile Company and Crypton Future Media unveiled the 3D party action game at Anime Expo 2026 on Saturday. It launches in 2027 for Switch 2 and PC via Steam, marking the first time the virtual singer's franchise has pivoted from Project DIVA's rhythm-action roots to a board game-style party format.
Every character appears as a chibi Nendoroid figure, Good Smile's signature collectible line brought to life in-game. Confirmed playable characters include Hatsune Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Meiko, and Kaito, with more teased for later reveals. The Nendoroid style is a deliberate callback: Starry Party is the first official Nendoroid-style Vocaloid game since Project Mirai on Nintendo 3DS.
A teaser trailer dropped alongside the announcement, featuring the original track "StargazeR" by Kots Beirne with Hatsune Miku. The game will support English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese at launch.
Further details on game modes and mechanics are expected closer to release.
Separately at Anime Expo, Dwango announced a Hatsune Miku collaboration EP under its "BEYOND BORDERs" global project. Grimes, Odetari, George Clanton, and Frost Children are among the artists contributing songs, with Vocaloid producers jon-YAKITORY, SatapanP, and picco anchoring production.
Singles roll out through the summer, with the full EP arriving this fall.
