Google is adding four capabilities to flows in Workspace Studio: custom starters, custom steps, third-party integrations, and webhooks, according to a Workspace update posted September 17. The features let teams trigger automations from outside applications, run their own Apps Script logic inside a flow, pass data to and from other services, and send HTTP requests to external endpoints.
Admin console settings began rolling out on September 17 for Rapid and Scheduled Release domains, with full visibility expected within one to three days. End-user visible features follow on September 21 for Rapid Release domains, also within one to three days, while Scheduled Release domains get a gradual rollout starting September 30 that can take up to 15 days for feature visibility.

Custom starters are real-time triggers that can be built and published so a flow runs in response to events in other applications. Custom steps let users build and run their own logic, for example with Apps Script, to tailor flows to more advanced business needs. Webhooks send HTTP requests to external endpoints to trigger actions there, and on supported editions admins can set a URL allowlist for webhook access.
The third-party integrations are in beta and cover Asana, Confluence, Hubspot, Jira, Mailchimp, Quickbooks, Salesforce, and Slack, so data can move between Workspace and those tools. Google says all four features sit behind granular enterprise security controls that let admins enable and adopt agentic capabilities across their organizations.
Availability spans Business Starter, Standard, and Plus; Enterprise Standard and Plus; Education Fundamentals, Standard, and Plus; and the Google AI Pro for Education and Teaching and Learning add-ons, along with AI Expanded Access. The webhook URL allowlist is narrower, limited to Business Plus, Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus, and Education Standard and Education Plus.
The launch follows Google's September 15 announcement that Gemini in Workspace would connect to Asana, Atlassian Rovo, HubSpot, Intuit Mailchimp, Intuit Quickbooks, Monday, and Salesforce through Model Context Protocol integrations, letting users reach that information without switching tabs or downloading files. Several of the same services now appear among the Workspace Studio integrations, though the new set is in beta and includes Slack and Confluence, which the earlier Gemini list did not name.
Google's notice does not disclose pricing for the new capabilities or say when the third-party integrations will leave beta.
