Google has made Gemini 4 Argon available today in the Gemini app for subscribers to Google AI Pro and Ultra, who can also assign Gemini tasks. A toggle in the main chat window lets users move between conversation and task assignment. Google says Gemini can carry out those tasks while users are away from their computers, working across Google apps and other services.
Gemini now has connections to more than 40 apps, including Shopify and Adobe as well as OpenTable and Instacart. Google says those connections support work such as creating designs, building a business, arranging restaurant reservations and buying groceries. For coding, the Gemini macOS app now includes the agentic coding interface from Google Antigravity, which Google says makes moving between code work and conversation easier.
Google says Argon improves coding and performance on complex tasks, alongside its reasoning capabilities. The company also says the model gives more direct answers, hedges less, limits unnecessary repetition and avoids clichés in its responses. During longer assignments, Google says Argon provides progress updates more frequently and communicates them more effectively.
The subscriber launch expands access beyond the initial rollout Google described on October 1, when Gemini 4 Argon was being introduced first to trusted cyber defenders through the Fairwind Program. At that stage, Google named consumers, developers and enterprises as eventual users but gave no timetable for their access.
