God of War Laufey, the next entry in the series from Santa Monica Studio, opens pre-orders on September 29 at 10:00am local time, Sony says. The game arrives on PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027. Faye takes the lead role this time.
Anyone who orders early gets three items: the Last Wish Armor Set, a Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance cosmetic, and a pack of in-game resources. The announcement does not include pricing details.
A Digital Deluxe Edition bundles more. It adds the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, a Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, and a Dark Alchemy Catalyst, plus another resource pack. Two digital extras come with it as well: a mini artbook and the official soundtrack.
Faye's main tool is the Serpent Bow, a new weapon that switches between dormant and notched forms and works up close or at range. Its Precision mode is a full-aim stance built for accuracy and longer draw distance, and it can slow enemy movement or hinder their strikes. Charging the bow in that mode stacks as many as five arrows.
A second stance, Hip-fire, is a half-aim mode that keeps Faye mobile while she looses a cluster of arrows. Quick-fire shots let players juggle enemies in the air and stretch combos. The bow also fires rapid fire, explosive, and multi-target arrows, and Serpent Scales can change both its look and its playstyle perk. Skills for the weapon unlock over time.
Armor in the game carries gameplay perks, stat boosts, and distinct looks. The Blade is the customizable part of Faye's sword, while the Scales fill the same role for her bow. Catalysts are artifacts that channel the magic of the Everywhen and produce a range of effects.
The game was revealed in June, and Sony says more details will come before launch. Other recent PlayStation Blog posts include Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, which launches March 4, 2027, and a Lisa-themed DualSense controller due in October.
