Double Fine’s multiplayer pottery brawler Kiln arrives April 23 across Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Cloud, and with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The studio behind Psychonauts follows up last year’s Keeper with what it calls “a multiplayer online pottery party brawler” where players shape clay vessels that battle each other.
Pot size and shape determine health points, water capacity and movement speed in Kiln’s main Quench mode. Smaller pots attack faster while larger vessels trade speed for power as teams of four compete to extinguish opponents’ kilns three times first.
An open beta runs on Steam from April 9 through 11 ahead of the full launch. Pre-orders go live during the beta period with the base game priced at $20. A $30 “Fired Up” edition includes premium cosmetic options plus extra chips, Kiln’s in-game currency for unlocking customizations. Xbox confirmed the title will be Handheld Optimized from launch for portable play.
Kiln represents the third Xbox Studios title hitting PlayStation 5 in rapid succession as Microsoft expands its multiplatform strategy. South of Midnight arrives March 31 followed by Starfield on April 7 before Kiln completes the trio on April 23.
The game was first showcased during January’s Xbox Developer Direct stream where Double Fine demonstrated players sculpting their own combat-ready pottery.
