Ring has introduced Ring Smart Lock, its first smart lock, with a built-in dial that users can turn to recharge a dead battery and regain entry. The company plans to sell it in the U.S. in early 2027, while its camera expansion includes four 4K models and Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K. Ring did not give prices in the announcement.

Indoor Cam 4K and Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K are available to buy today in the U.S., with preorders opening in Canada, the UK and several European countries. Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K also has preorder availability in Australia and New Zealand. Outdoor Cam 4K Plus, Spotlight Cam 4K Plus and Floodlight Cam 4K Plus are available for preorder today across the U.S., Canada, the UK and several European markets, with Outdoor Cam 4K Plus also offered in Japan.

Ring Smart Lock will come in brass, black and silver, and fits a standard single-cylinder deadbolt without extra wiring. Users can enter through its fingerprint sensor or illuminated touchscreen keypad, or use the Ring App or Alexa. It connects through Amazon Sidewalk and requires coverage from that network, which can vary by location or be interrupted.

The lock works with Ring Doorbells, cameras and Alarm, and records events in the Ring App activity feed. The app lets users check whether the door is locked, lock it remotely and control access. A compatible Ring subscription is required for digital arming/disarming and some other app functions.

Indoor Cam 4K introduces Retinal 4K to Ring's indoor cameras, alongside a 115-degree viewing angle, dual-band wifi 6 and a physical privacy shutter. Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K instead records in 2K, with pan coverage of 360 degrees and tilt of 175 degrees. Ring says it tracks movement using computer vision, and closing its privacy shutter switches off both video and the microphone.

Outdoor Cam 4K Plus offers power choices including PoE and hardwired configurations, as well as battery operation. Spotlight Cam 4K Plus has a 550-lumen light, while Floodlight Cam 4K Plus supports smart detection and 24/7 Recording. That recording feature requires a compatible Ring subscription, depends on network connectivity and stores recordings temporarily in the cloud for up to 14 days.

Ring's earlier indoor camera lineup included the Ring Indoor Cam Plus and Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam, both compatible with its NFL Game Day Cam Cover accessory. The earlier Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam already offered automatic motion tracking and horizontal rotation of 360 degrees.
