Cohere plans to acquire AISLE to add cybersecurity capabilities to its sovereign AI platform, using autonomous systems that find previously unknown software flaws and help fix them. The proposed agreement was announced on October 15, with no acquisition price disclosed. Cohere expects the combination to improve threat detection for enterprises and public-sector customers.

The planned purchase would also bring AISLE’s team into Cohere and put its three founders in leadership roles. Ondrej Vlcek would lead the newly established global cybersecurity business, Cohere Cyber, as Senior Vice President, Cohere Cyber. Jaya Baloo would take responsibility for security across the company as Cohere’s Chief Information Security Officer.

Stanislav Fort would become Vice President, AI Security, leading AI security research while participating in Cohere’s core model research and training. Cohere wants AISLE’s research to work more closely with its frontier-model development. The company says it is exploring whether hard, checkable security problems could help it assess and sharpen later models.

AISLE, founded in 2024, identified every one of the 12 vulnerabilities included in OpenSSL’s January security release. Its findings also accounted for 18 of the 24 CVEs in curl’s latest release. The maintainers responsible for the affected software independently review the zero-day findings produced by AISLE.

AISLE’s technology checks the vulnerabilities it discovers in production software and assists efforts to repair them. Its approach brings security expertise and foundation models into the process, alongside tools for examining code, verifying findings and automating fixes. Cohere aims to make vulnerability detection, verification and repair continuous and scalable.

Cohere envisages deploying the combined technology in fully air-gapped systems, as well as on-premises installations and private clouds. It expects better governance of AI agents, together with improvements to monitoring and observability. The intended protections extend to sensitive organizational information and critical systems.

Cohere also plans a long-term investment in Prague to grow AISLE’s operations there. It intends the city to serve as its worldwide hub for AI cybersecurity and autonomous security. The proposed AISLE acquisition follows Cohere’s purchases of Reliant AI and Aleph Alpha and would expand its European presence further.
