BMW is adding a Black Package to the M Performance versions of the 2 Series Coupé, 4 Series Coupé and 4 Series Convertible, part of a broad autumn 2026 model update that also brings new powertrains, interior changes and in-car entertainment. The package is offered only alongside the M Sport package Pro, which includes the M Sport brake in Red, and BMW says it gives the cabin a more dynamic ambience with carbon trim and a leather steering wheel with carbon decorative trim.
Buyers of the M440i xDrive Coupé, M440d xDrive Coupé and the two open-top 4 Series models also get 19-inch M light alloy wheels in Double-spoke style 995 M Jet Black with mixed tyres as part of the package, while further M light alloy wheels can be added as options. The M240i xDrive Coupé comes with black door sill strips, and the package adds model badges at the rear plus a black BMW M logo on the side panel.
The biggest product news is the start of production and German market launch for three models from the new 7 Series that BMW unveiled in spring 2026: the 740d xDrive at 230 kW/313 hp, the 750e xDrive plug-in hybrid at 360 kW/489 hp, and the 450 kW/612 hp M760e xDrive at the top of the range. All three use 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line engines. Models from the new X5 generation shown in summer 2026 also reach the market in the coming months, including the X5 50e xDrive and X5 M60e xDrive plug-in hybrids and the electric iX5 60 xDrive, which BMW quotes with an electric range of 723 to 850 km.
Two further premieres stand out. The electric iX3 40 xDrive produces 275 kW/374 hp, and the X3 M50 xDrive rises to 326 kW/443 hp, an increase of 33 kW/45 hp over the previous version. BMW is also revising the powertrain range for the 218i and 220i Active Tourer and the X3 20 xDrive.
Inside, the X3 gains centre console storage illumination, a grab handle with ambient lighting, a new glove box opener, new instrument panel stitching and a stainless steel loading sill insert, though that insert is not fitted to the X3 20 xDrive or X3 20d xDrive. The iX3 adds Mineral White metallic paint, black high-gloss roof rails as an option, standard Wireless Charging tray Plus and seat adjustment controls in the doors with contour lighting when multifunction or sport seats are specified.
For the 7 Series and i7, BMW will offer eight BMW Individual Two-Tone paint finishes across all engine variants from autumn 2026, along with a digital interior mirror and pre-heating as new options. Three Active Tourer models, the 218d, 220d and 225e xDrive, get 17-inch Star-spoke style 875 light alloy wheels as standard, replacing the previous 16-inch wheels.
In the second half of 2026, Amazon Prime Video joins the digital entertainment lineup in BMW vehicles running BMW Operating System 9 or X, accessible through the BMW Video & TV App or an in-car App Store download.
