Blizzard opened BlizzCon 2026 with two long-range announcements: StarCraft is coming back as an open-world shooter in 2030, and Diablo V will launch in Spring 2029. The Diablo sequel picks up after Sanctuary has fallen and Diablo has won, according to the ceremony. Both titles are years away, and the event offered no pricing or platform details for either.
Diablo IV players get something sooner. The Season of Hell's Legacy arrives September 15 and marks 30 years of the franchise, bringing the Prime Evils, Deckard Cain, and Nightmare Rifts. Amazon joins the game as its next class in the first half of 2027, and Moophisto returns to terrorize players. Xbox players can take 75% off Diablo IV through September 22, while select Diablo II: Resurrected content is discounted by up to 30% over the same window.

Overwatch's Season 5 adds Doctrine, a Support hero the company describes as a life-draining, vampire-inspired healer who fights with bat-like drones. Doctrine is playable at BlizzCon now and from home for a limited time. Sombra and Roadhog both receive major reworks, and a new map called Watchpoint: Grimsvotn joins the rotation. The season closes out the year-long Reign of Talon story arc, with the next Overwatch Spotlight set for February 2027.
On the Warcraft side, the next major World of Warcraft update is Eclipse (12.2), in which Xal'atath closes in on Azeroth's Worldsoul. The Last Titan will serve as the final chapter of the Worldsoul Saga, with more details promised early next year. Warcraft III: Reforged gets its first new story in more than 23 years: The Forsaken Kingdom campaign, which covers the fall of Lordaeron. It ships alongside a 3.0 update that includes a graphics overhaul and a revamped World Editor, and it is playable today. Reforged itself is on Xbox Game Pass, though the announcement says the new campaign still requires the DLC.
World of Warcraft: Forever stays anchored in the Vanilla era and adds three new zones, a Skyborne race, more than 1,000 quests, nine dungeons, and two raids. It launches November 4, 2026, with a beta beginning September 17. Hearthstone gets an overhauled Journal that consolidates quests, achievements, and events, plus a new Assemble keyword that merges two cards into a stronger one. The Reign of the Black Empire hits the Tavern on October 20, Battlegrounds adds the Aberrations minion type September 22, and the Monk arrives in March 2027 as the first new class in six years.
Heroes of the Storm players can pick up Xal'atath on September 28, with time on the PTR starting September 14. The weekend livestream carries panels and a halftime show, the first in BlizzCon history, from YOASOBI, with LE SSERAFIM returning as the closing act and a new in-game collaboration already live. A QuestWatch tabletop one-shot from Matt Mercer along with the Overwatch Narrative team is also part of the lineup, and Xbox players watching the broadcast from home can earn a Mythic Voucher for playing one match.
