ASUS has announced the Ascent QN10, a mini PC it describes as the first of its kind to carry an 80 TOPS neural processing unit, built on Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite platform. The company positions the machine for creators, developers and enterprises that want to run AI workloads locally rather than in the cloud. ASUS announced the system from Taipei, saying it exceeds the requirements for Copilot+ PCs.
The pitch is density: the chassis measures under 0.7 liters, which ASUS says makes it 86% smaller than a conventional 5-liter desktop. Inside, an 18-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU handles multitasking and AI-accelerated work, paired with integrated Adreno graphics that ASUS claims run 2.3 times faster than the previous generation. The Hexagon NPU supplies the 80 TOPS of AI throughput for tasks such as real-time translation, content generation, video enhancement and workflow automation.
ASUS did not disclose a price or a ship date in the announcement. The company says the compact size supports quiet operation and low power draw while sustaining heavier workloads. Connectivity covers WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, which ASUS says suits cloud synchronization, collaborative work and connected AI applications.
Security is pitched at organizations rather than individuals. ASUS describes a chip-to-cloud architecture spanning hardware, firmware, the operating system and cloud environments, with fTPM 2.0 for hardware-rooted credential and encryption protection and Microsoft's Pluton security processor for identity and key protection. The company says these layers are meant to let businesses deploy intelligent applications while keeping sensitive data guarded.
Developers get a path to Qualcomm's AI Hub, a site ASUS says offers more than 175 pre-optimized models and supports bringing your own model and data. The QN10 can also run hybrid agentic workflows that split tasks between local NPU processing and cloud LLM APIs, and ASUS says users can reach AI agents through platforms including WhatsApp and LINE. Named agent frameworks in the announcement include OpenClaw and Hermes Agent.
The launch lands days after ASUS used IFA 2026 to show a ProArt lineup built on NVIDIA RTX Spark, spanning the ProArt P16 and P14 laptops and the GR1X mini PC, with local AI and agentic workflow tools aimed at creators. ASUS brought the same GR1X mini PC and RTX Spark laptops to IBC 2026 earlier in the month, alongside professional 4K QD-OLED SDI monitors. The QN10 differs in its silicon: Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite rather than NVIDIA hardware.
What the announcement leaves open is the practical side of buying one. There is no configuration list, no memory or storage detail, and no word on which markets will get it.
