Apptronik secured $520 million in a Series A extension, tripling its valuation to over $5 billion. The Austin-based humanoid robotics company announced the funding on February 11, 2026.

The extension follows a $415 million Series A round completed in February 2025. Combined, the two rounds bring Apptronik's total Series A to over $935 million and nearly $1 billion in total capital raised since its 2016 founding.

Existing investors Google, Mercedes-Benz, and B Capital participated alongside new backers including AT&T Ventures, John Deere, and the Qatar Investment Authority.

The company received substantial inbound interest after its initial round, leading to the extension at triple the original valuation.

Apptronik will use the capital to ramp up production of its Apollo humanoid robot. The company plans to expand global commercial deployments and build dedicated facilities for robot training and data collection.

The funding arrives during a surge in humanoid robotics investment. Startups in the sector raised $6.1 billion across 139 deals in 2025, a 300% increase from the previous year's $1.5 billion across 65 deals.

Apptronik has commercial agreements with Mercedes-Benz, GXO Logistics, and Jabil. The partnerships focus initially on warehouse and factory applications, with planned expansion into retail, healthcare, and eventually domestic environments.

The company employs approximately 300 people and expects to expand its workforce. Apptronik also plans to unveil a new robot in 2026, continuing its development of human-centered robotics.

Competitor Figure AI raised over $1 billion in September 2025 at a $39 billion valuation. Tesla continues developing its Optimus robot line, while Chinese startup X Square Robot secured $140 million in January 2026.

Apptronik's valuation increase reflects investor confidence in humanoid robotics commercialization. The company's technology originated from NASA's Valkyrie humanoid robot project through the University of Texas at Austin's Human Centered Robotics Lab.

Humanoid robotics represents a growing market opportunity. Research from Citi projects 648 million humanoid robots by 2050, with the total addressable market reaching $209 billion by 2035 and $7 trillion by 2050.

Apptronik's funding extension closed on February 11, 2026, with the company planning accelerated production and deployment timelines throughout the year.
