Apple TV will add Dolby Atmos to its Formula 1 coverage at this weekend’s United States Grand Prix, with the race scheduled for Sunday, October 25. U.S. subscribers get exclusive streaming access to every session, either as it happens or for later viewing. Apple says the event will be the first Formula 1 race broadcast with Dolby Atmos, adding the audio format alongside Dolby Vision.

The Dolby formats require compatible equipment and work through the Apple TV app, including on supported Apple devices and Dolby-enabled televisions, soundbars and home theater systems. Commentary will be offered in Spanish and English, and viewers can choose from as many as 30 extra live feeds across all of the sessions. Multiview also now works on supported smart TVs, extending a feature already offered on Apple devices and streaming players.

Multiview lets viewers put as many as four live feeds together on one screen. Among the additional options, the Podium feed follows whichever drivers occupy the leading three positions, while Driver Tracker provides an overhead perspective on the race. Another onboard option changes camera views automatically as events develop, and separate feeds provide session data and timing.

The audio rollout follows Apple’s earlier plan to introduce Dolby Atmos on Friday, October 23, at the start of the U.S. Grand Prix weekend. Dolby Vision had been available since the season opened, so the weekend adds an audio format to the existing picture offering.

At Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli has an opportunity to secure his first Drivers’ Championship and become its youngest winner. Away from home viewing, live IMAX screenings are planned at more than 50 locations nationwide, including the Bullock Texas State History Museum’s IMAX Theatre in Austin.

Apple Domain NORTHSIDE will also show the race live on Sunday. For fans following remotely, the free Apple Sports app on iPhone provides current standings, leaderboards and session updates, plus access to the Apple TV race page. Attendees can use Apple Maps for circuit navigation, including information on entry gates, pedestrian routes, rideshare pickup locations and road closures.
