Apple has released public beta 4 for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and tvOS 27, arriving just hours after the company rolled out the corresponding developer beta 6 builds. The new round of public betas delivers bug fixes and performance improvements as Apple approaches the official release of these systems in a few weeks. Apple published watchOS 27 public beta 4 later the same day.
iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 public beta 4 both carry build 24A5418b, while tvOS 27 is at build 24J5353b. The build number for each public beta is the same as that of its corresponding developer beta 6, except for macOS, which is at build 26A5416b. Apple re-released the macOS 27 public beta with that build after an earlier build numbered 26A5416a. The watchOS 27 public beta carries build 24R5353a.
The macOS 27 Golden Gate beta introduces a new wallpaper alongside redesigned stoplight window controls, and the iOS update brings an updated notification animation. The Mac's Preview icon has also been updated to match the iOS version.
Users can enroll in the Public Beta program by visiting Apple's beta website and following the steps for each device. On an iPhone, the process involves opening the Settings app, selecting General, and choosing Software Update to opt in.
Apple recommends installing beta software on a secondary device, and anyone using a primary iPhone should make a recent backup first.
