Venmo is now available as a payment option on Google Play, giving Android users more flexibility at checkout. The payment service went live on the platform as of Aug 10, 2026, according to Google's announcement.
Google said the rollout covers purchases including games, apps, add-ons, subscriptions, and other digital content. Users can pay using their Venmo wallet balance or linked payment methods such as bank accounts and cards, and can also use Venmo to tip creators within content-based apps.
To set it up, go to payment methods in your Google Play Store account settings and link your Venmo account. Google describes the experience as secure, fast, and social, matching the familiar Venmo interface now extended across Play.
The move adds to Google Play's existing digital payment lineup in the United States, which already includes PayPal and Cash App along with American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and JCB cards, per TechCrunch. Outside the U.S., Google has also experimented with letting users pay for digital purchases using cash at nearby stores.
