Razer Synapse Web brings basic Razer device setup into a desktop browser, so you do not need the full Synapse desktop app for quick changes. The main catch is compatibility: you need a supported Razer device, current firmware, a verified browser, and WebHID permission.
Start with the checks below, then pair the device and adjust the settings that Synapse Web exposes for your model.
1. Confirm your setup works with Synapse Web
Use Synapse Web on Windows 11 or macOS 26 with Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Opera.
Start from Razer Synapse 4 page > Try Now, or open https://synapse.razer.com/ directly.
Check Razer’s current supported-device list before pairing, then update the device firmware and connect it by USB or its supported wireless dongle.
2. Add your Razer device in the browser
Use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Opera.
Update your device firmware before pairing.
Connect the Razer device by USB or its supported wireless dongle.
Close the Razer Synapse desktop app if it is running.
Open Synapse Web. If it shows SYNAPSE DESKTOP APP RUNNING, close the desktop app, then choose Retry.
Select ADD DEVICE.
In the browser permission picker, select the device.
Choose Pair or Connect.
After it appears on the dashboard, select the device tile to configure it.
3. Tune profiles and lighting
Open Synapse Web and choose ADD DEVICE.
Use the browser Pair or Connect prompt.
Select the connected device tile on the dashboard.
Fine-tune the device settings available for that model.
Switch on-board profiles from the device page.
Change Razer Chroma RGB quick effects.
Use the Razer Chroma App when you need advanced lighting effects.
4. Keep working after the internet drops
Synapse Web needs internet access for the first load.
After the device is added, keep the same browser session open and use Synapse Web > dashboard > device tile.
The tool continues working offline until that browser session closes.
5. Unblock Chrome device pairing
This fixes Chrome HID permission problems that stop Synapse Web from seeing your Razer device.
- 1.Open Chrome.
- 2.Go to More > Settings > Privacy and security > Site Settings > Additional permissions > HID devices.
- 3.Choose the default HID device setting.
- 4.Return to Synapse Web.
- 5.Select ADD DEVICE again.
6. Remove Synapse Web access
In Chrome, open Synapse Web.
Choose View site information on the left side of the web address.
Next to the HID device permission, choose Remove.
To remove the device inside Synapse Web instead, select the device tile close icon.
You can also go to Settings > Device > remove devices, choose the device remove icon, then confirm with remove device and remove.
Removing browser access leaves the device’s saved on-board profile in place.
7. Switch keyboard profiles from the keyboard
For supported Huntsman V3 Line and Signature Edition keyboards, hardware shortcuts switch on-board profiles without opening the site.
Use fn + ins for Last-used Razer Synapse profile, fn + home for Factory Default, fn + pg up for FPS Rapid Trigger, fn + del for Analog WASD, fn + end for Racing, or fn + pg dn for High Sensitivity.
On Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Mini 65% 8 kHz and Huntsman V3 Pro Mini, use fn + ' to cycle preset profiles; on other Razer OBM keyboards, hold fn and use the illuminated bottom-row shortcut.
8. Update Synapse Web and device firmware
This fixes outdated web app and firmware issues before you troubleshoot the browser.
For Synapse Web itself, go to Settings > About.
Use UPDATE AVAILABLE when it appears.
When it says Synapse Web is up to date., return to the dashboard.
If a connected device shows Updates available, open the firmware guide or use Download from the firmware update panel.
9. Move to Synapse 4 for advanced controls
Synapse Web is a simplified interface for compatible devices, on-board profiles, device settings, and quick Chroma effects.
For complete configuration and advanced functionality, use Razer Synapse 4 page > Download for Windows or Razer Synapse 4 page > Download for Mac.
Ignore launch-era guides that limit Synapse Web to three Huntsman V3 Pro 8 kHz keyboards; Razer’s current supported-device list includes more keyboards and the Razer Viper V4 Pro.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Razer Synapse Web work in Safari or Firefox?
Razer lists Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera as supported. It does not document Safari or Firefox support.
Does Synapse Web support Cloud Sync?
No. Razer’s FAQ says Synapse Web currently does not support Cloud Sync, so signing in is for Razer ID account access, not profile cloud syncing.
Which devices are listed as supported?
The current list includes several Razer Huntsman models and the Razer Viper V4 Pro. Check Razer’s supported-devices page before pairing.
What should I do on a work or school computer?
Ask your administrator to review WebHID policy. Managed Chrome or Edge setups control whether Synapse Web is allowed to ask for HID device access.
