Finding a flight gets complicated when you're comparing prices, dates, airports, and baggage costs. Google Flights brings those choices together and lets you track fares before you buy. Here's how to search, narrow your options, and set alerts from your computer or phone browser, with no Flights installation required.
Start with your route and travel preferences
Start here to find flights for your dates and travel party. Open Google Flights in your browser.
Choose Round trip or One way from the trip-type selector. Then enter your departure city or airport and your destination.
Open the passenger-count selector. Adjust Adults, Children, or Infants, including the infant seat or lap choice. Select Done to save the passenger count.
Choose Economy, Premium economy, Business, or First from the cabin selector. Choose your travel dates, then select Search.
Compare cheaper dates and nearby airports
Your first dates don't have to be your final dates. Open a travel-date field to see daily fares in the calendar.
Select departure and return dates that fit your plans. Apply the date selection. After searching, open Date grid to compare departure and return combinations. Select your preferred combination.
For a wider view, open Price graph to compare fares across weeks or months. Choose dates that fit your budget.
To compare airports, open the departure or destination field. Choose Select multiple airports, add the airports you want to compare, and select Done.
Repeat that sequence in the other airport field to compare alternatives at both ends. If changing dates doesn't produce a fare you want, try additional departure or destination airports using Select multiple airports.
Set a price alert before you buy
Let Google follow fare changes while you decide when to book.
- 1.Sign in to your Google Account.
- 2.Search your route with your dates, passengers, cabin, and preferences using Search.
- 3.Enable Track prices for the searched dates to track that route.
- 4.For flexible travel, choose Any dates under Track prices instead. Google emails significant price reductions or periodic fare summaries.
- 5.For a particular itinerary, select the flights you want, then enable Track prices for that selection.
Narrow results to fit your plans
A broad search includes stops, schedules, and fares that don't fit your trip. Open Stops to restrict connections. Use Airlines to select acceptable carriers. Set your maximum fare through Price.
Adjust Times to narrow departure or arrival times. Limit the journey length through Duration. Specify your carry-on or checked baggage through Bags.
Compare the recalculated fares. Baggage estimates depend on booking partners' information and don't always include additional taxes. On compact layouts, open More or All filters to find the filtering controls.
Explore destinations when you're flexible
Know where you're leaving from, but haven't picked a destination? Enter your departure place on Google Flights.
Choose Anywhere as the destination, then select Explore. Open the calendar and choose Flexible dates.
Select Next 6 months or an offered month. Pick Weekend, 1 week, or 2 weeks for your trip length. Select Done.
Use Price to narrow destinations to your budget. Switch between View map and View list to compare destinations. Select a destination to inspect its options.
For a fixed schedule, choose Specific dates in the calendar. Select your travel dates, then select Done. If flexible-date results don't suit your schedule, try the Specific dates search described above.
Look beyond the lowest fare before booking
Some of the lowest-priced options involve airport changes or self-transfers. Select Best to compare Google's balance of price and convenience. Switch to Cheapest to see the lowest-priced alternatives.
Expand a flight using its down arrow to inspect the itinerary and operating airline. Check for airport changes and separate-ticket notices. For combinations requiring separate purchases, check every ticket's availability and price before buying any component. Baggage rechecking and connection protection differ between arrangements.
Choose the flights for each required leg. Use Select beside your preferred booking option to continue to the airline or travel agency's website. Complete the purchase with that booking partner. The currency displayed on Google Flights isn't necessarily the partner's transaction currency.
Manage saved alerts and notification emails
Sign in to the Google Account you used to save your alerts. Open the main menu. Choose Tracked flight prices, or use the direct tracked-flights link.
Select a saved route to inspect it. On Tracked Flights, use Add notification to switch tracking emails on or off. Choose Remove to stop tracking a route or flight. Muting emails leaves the saved tracker in place; removing it stops tracking.
