Want to see who's been checking your TikTok profile? Profile view history is off by default, and turning it on shows participating accounts that visited in the past 30 days. Here are the three routes to the switch, plus what to check if it's missing. Just know that sharing goes both ways: your visits also become visible to other accounts using the feature.
Turn on profile views in privacy settings
Profile view history starts switched off, so you need to enable it before any visitor history appears. Open TikTok and tap Profile at the bottom. Then tap Menu ☰ at the top.
Choose Settings and privacy. Open Privacy. Select Profile views. Turn on Profile view history.
This route takes you to the setting through the TikTok mobile app's privacy controls. You don't need a profile-view notification to follow these steps. The feature is available to accounts aged 16 or older with fewer than 5,000 followers.
Use the shortcut on your profile
Already see a Profile views button at the top of your profile? For eligible accounts, that button offers a shorter route to the same switch.
The profile button opens the area where you can access the history setting. Opening that area is only part of the process, since the toggle starts off.
Tap Profile at the bottom of TikTok. Then tap Profile views at the top.
Open Settings at the top of that screen. Switch on Profile view history. If the shortcut is missing, use the privacy settings route above.
Enable it from your Inbox
A notification that someone viewed your profile provides another route to the toggle. You can also use the profile-view entry in your activities when it appears.
Tap Inbox in TikTok. Open Activities. Scroll if needed to find a profile-view notification or the Profile views entry.
Tap the notification or Profile views. Next, tap Settings at the top. Turn on Profile view history.
Use this shortcut when your Inbox already contains one of those entries. Either entry leads to the same history control. After opening it, you still need to enter the settings and enable the toggle.
Check eligibility if the option is missing
TikTok restricts profile view history by age and follower count, so check those requirements first. Check that you're at least 16 years old. Check that your account has fewer than 5,000 followers. Exactly 5,000 does not qualify.
Both requirements apply together. Being old enough doesn't remove the follower limit, and having fewer than 5,000 followers doesn't remove the minimum age requirement.
If you qualify but neither shortcut appears, open Profile. Tap Menu ☰. Choose Settings and privacy.
Open Privacy. Select Profile views. Turn on Profile view history.
Turning on notifications doesn't replace this switch. Notification permissions and profile view history are separate controls.
See who visited and understand the privacy tradeoff
Once the feature is on, your history shows participating accounts that visited within the past 30 days. Only visitors who also have profile view history enabled appear, so this isn't a complete guest list.
An account's absence from the history doesn't necessarily mean that person hasn't visited your profile. A visitor with the feature switched off won't appear among the participating accounts.
To check your history using the profile shortcut, open Profile. Tap Profile views at the top.
Keep that same limit in mind when you visit someone else's profile: with Profile view history enabled, your visits are visible to other participating accounts. The sharing behavior is the same whichever route you use to enable the setting. Turning it on through your Inbox or profile shortcut also makes your visits visible to participating accounts.
