Trying to use the appletv.com login page sends you to Apple TV on the web at tv.apple.com. The button is easy to miss, and the right sign-in path changes depending on whether you are using a browser, phone, smart TV, console, or the Apple TV app.
Start with the web sign-in below, then use the device section that matches your screen.
1. Open the appletv.com login page
Go to appletv.com or tv.apple.com, select Sign In, then enter your Apple Account email address or phone number and password. appletv.com redirects to tv.apple.com, Apple’s current browser experience for watching Apple TV.
- 1.Open appletv.com or tv.apple.com in Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
- 2.Select Sign In.
- 3.Enter your Apple Account email address or phone number.
- 4.Enter your Password.
- 5.Complete Two-Factor Authentication when Apple asks.
To start a subscription from the browser, choose Sign In, Sign Up, Get Apple TV, or Start Free Trial when that option appears, then confirm billing.
2. Create your Apple Account first
No Apple Account yet? Open account.apple.com, then create or manage your Apple Account there. After that, return to tv.apple.com or the Apple TV app and sign in again.
Signing in at account.apple.com manages the account itself. It does not automatically sign the browser into Apple TV playback.
3. Use the Apple TV app on iPhone or iPad
On iPhone or iPad, the sign-in prompt appears inside the Apple TV app when you open a main tab or try to use your subscription.
Open the Apple TV app.
On iPhone, tap Search, Home, Apple TV, MLS, Formula 1 (U.S. only), Store, or Library. On iPad, Channels & Apps is also available.
When prompted, sign in with your Apple Account.
Then choose your existing subscription or start a Free Trial.
Apple says the latest Apple TV app features require iOS 17.2 or later, or iPadOS 17.2 or later.
4. Sign in on Mac Windows or Android
On Mac: Open the Apple TV app, click Apple Account in the bottom-left corner, then follow the onscreen instructions. You can also choose Account then Sign In.
On Windows: Open the Apple TV app, select Sign In at the bottom of the sidebar, select Sign In under View My Account, enter your Apple Account email address or phone number and password, then select Sign In.
On Android: Open the Apple TV app, tap Sign In in the top-right corner, tap Sign In in Settings, then follow the onscreen steps to sign in or create a new Apple Account.
5. Connect a smart TV or streaming device
The cleanest sign-in on a supported TV or streaming device is the mobile code flow.
Open the Apple TV app.
Use the controller’s Back button or Left button to open the sidebar.
Go to Settings.
Select Sign in.
Next, choose Sign In On Mobile Device.
Scan the QR Code with your phone camera, or go to link.apple.com and enter the code.
Follow the instructions on your phone or device.
If your device shows Sign in with Remote, select it and manually enter your Apple Account email address or phone number and password with the TV remote. Apple lists support across compatible Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, Google TV, Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, VIZIO, Hisense, and VIDAA devices.
6. Add Apple TV hardware consoles or service boxes
On Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD: Open Settings, go to Users and Accounts, choose a suggested user or select Add New User, then choose Use Another Apple Device or Sign in Manually. On tvOS 26 this reads Profiles and Accounts and Add New Profile. Enter your Apple Account details and the six-digit verification code when prompted.
On PlayStation: On PS5, go to Media Hub and select the Apple TV app. On PS4, go to TV & Video and select the Apple TV app. Sign in when the app prompts you.
On Xbox: On Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or Xbox Series S, go to Store, search for Apple TV, install the app, then open it from Entertainment or My games and apps.
On cable or satellite boxes: From the service home screen, go to Search, search for Apple TV, follow the onscreen download steps, then open the Apple TV app from the service’s app launcher.
7. Fix sign-in blocks fast
Two-Factor Authentication: Enter the six-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number.
Device Association Limit: Apple’s media association limit is ten devices, with no more than five computers. In the Apple TV app or Apple Music app on Mac or Windows, open account settings, choose Manage Devices, then select Remove next to an old device. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Media & Purchases, tap View Account, then tap Remove This Device.
Shared Or Sold Device: Open the Apple TV app on the smart TV or streaming device, go to Settings, then choose Reset. Apple says this removes personal information and restores the app to its original settings.
Old Activation Links: Use the current QR Code or link.apple.com code flow for TV sign-in.
Work Or School Restrictions: Apple TV needs a personal Apple Account. Apple lists Apple TV and Apple TV+ among the media services a Managed Apple Account cannot access, and says those accounts cannot Sign in on Apple TV. Apple TV 4K does not support Managed Apple Accounts at all. Use a personal Apple Account where your organization allows it, and contact the organization’s administrator when a managed device or policy blocks Apple TV.
Older pages may say Apple ID. Apple’s current wording is Apple Account, and you sign in with the same email address or phone number and password.
