Trying to log in to your Spectrum router through an IP address? Current Spectrum-supplied routers use My Spectrum or Spectrum.net for management, with your Spectrum account username and password. Here’s how to get to your WiFi information and router settings, plus what to do if you’ve forgotten your login.
Log in with the My Spectrum app
Download My Spectrum for your iPhone or Android phone from Spectrum’s documented download page, spectrum.net/getappnow, or search for My Spectrum App in your device’s app store.
Open My Spectrum.
Sign in with your Spectrum username and password.
Select Services.
Open Internet to access your WiFi information and equipment.
For layouts showing Your WiFi Network, select Manage Network. The controls and layout depend on your equipment and app version.
Tip: the password printed on your router gets you onto WiFi; your Spectrum account password gets you into router management.

Sign in with your Spectrum account username and password.
Select Services.
Open Internet to access your wireless information and router equipment.
Already signed in? Open the Internet services page directly. This is your online Spectrum account portal, separate from a local router login. Website management is supported, but app and website features are not interchangeable.
If website management fails, try My Spectrum. If a forgotten username or password is stopping you, use the recovery steps below.
Recover a forgotten Spectrum login
Account recovery gets you back in when you’ve forgotten your Spectrum username or password.
Open the sign-in screen at Spectrum.net.
Select Forgot Username or Password?
Complete the account-recovery prompts. These recover your Spectrum account credentials, not an older router’s separate administrator password.
Sign in to My Spectrum or Spectrum.net with your recovered credentials.
Create an account if you do not have a username
You need a Spectrum username to manage your Spectrum Advanced WiFi router.
- 1.Open Spectrum.net.
- 2.Select Create a Username.
- 3.Complete the account-verification prompts to create your username and password.
- 4.Sign in to My Spectrum or Spectrum.net with those credentials.
Why the old router IP login does not work
If you’ve been trying 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 with generic administrator credentials, stop there. Current Spectrum-supplied managed routers do not support that local browser login method.
The older Spectrum/ARRIS RAC2V1A had a documented local administrator interface. That legacy method was specific to the hardware and does not apply to current Advanced WiFi routers.
For current Spectrum router management, open My Spectrum or Spectrum.net and use your Spectrum account credentials.
If you use your own NETGEAR router
Connect your device to your NETGEAR router’s network. Customer-owned routers use their manufacturer’s login method, with credentials separate from your Spectrum account.
Open routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1 in your browser’s address bar. NETGEAR supports this route on the models listed in its login instructions, including listed WiFi 6, WiFi 6E, and WiFi 7 routers.
Enter admin as the administrator username.
Enter the router password you created during setup to sign in. The BASIC Home page or Dashboard opens.
Tip: routerlogin.net is a NETGEAR login address; follow your manufacturer’s instructions if you own a different brand.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does scanning the QR code on my Spectrum router log me in automatically?
No. The My Spectrum download QR code on supported router labels opens an app-download link. You still need to open My Spectrum and sign in with your Spectrum username and password.
Can I change my WiFi name and password without the app?
Yes. Spectrum supports website changes to the network name and password for Advanced WiFi 5, WiFi 6, and WiFi 6E routers. Sign in at Spectrum.net, then open Services > Internet.
Will resetting my Spectrum router recover my account password?
No. Resetting the router does not recover your Spectrum account password. Select Forgot Username or Password? on the Spectrum.net sign-in screen instead. A factory reset removes personalized router settings, and reset-button timings differ by model.
