Your Xfinity NOW WiFi Pass gets you online through the open xfinitywifi hotspot network, but the wrong hotspot, a stuck sign-in page, or the two-device limit can block the connection. Start with the official connection flow, then clear the device settings that break the portal and pass authorization.
The fixes below move from the fastest checks to the account and renewal steps that need Xfinity support.
1. Start with the official xfinitywifi sign-in
- 1.Open your device’s Wi-Fi menu.
- 2.Choose xfinitywifi.
- 3.Select Get connected.
- 4.Sign up or sign in with your Xfinity ID and password.
NOW WiFi Pass works through xfinitywifi. If the pass was already purchased and the page asks again, sign in again and reconnect the device. Xfinity lists Apple iOS 17.1 or later, Android 11.0 or later, macOS 10.7 or later, and Microsoft Windows 10 or later as supported for NOW WiFi Pass. BlackBerry, Chromebook, Linux PCs, Kindle, and similar devices are currently not supported.
2. Move to an Xfinity-owned hotspot
The pass only works on Xfinity-owned and operated hotspots. A hotspot run by another company can offer Xfinity WiFi access and still fail for NOW WiFi Pass.
- 1.Open the official Xfinity hotspot map.
- 2.Find a nearby Xfinity-owned hotspot.
- 3.Open your device’s Wi-Fi settings.
- 4.Select xfinitywifi.
- 5.Complete the sign-in page.
Xfinity says hotspot availability and connection are not guaranteed, so moving to another mapped hotspot is a real fix when the first one refuses the pass.
3. Free one of your two device slots
- Disconnect one device already using xfinitywifi.
- Wait a moment.
- Connect the device you want to use to xfinitywifi.
- Complete the portal sign-in again when prompted.
One NOW WiFi Pass connects up to 2 devices at the same time. If a third phone, tablet, or laptop tries to join, the pass can look broken while the subscription is still active. If the same phone keeps counting as a new device, use the private address and randomized MAC settings in step 6.
4. Make the login page load
A blank page or looping sign-in screen means the device joined the hotspot but the browser flow did not finish. In your browser settings, turn on JavaScript, reload the Xfinity or NOW WiFi Pass page, then reconnect to xfinitywifi to open the portal again.
On iPhone or iPad with iCloud Private Relay, open Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the More Info button next to xfinitywifi, scroll down, then turn off Limit IP Address Tracking. Reopen the captive portal after that.
5. Forget xfinitywifi and join again
- iPhone or iPad: Open Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the More Info button next to xfinitywifi, tap Forget This Network, then tap Forget. Select xfinitywifi again and wait for the login screen.
- Android: Open Settings > Network & internet > Internet, touch and hold xfinitywifi, then tap Forget. Tap xfinitywifi again and complete the sign-in page.
- Mac: Go to Apple menu > System Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced, click the More Options button next to xfinitywifi, choose Remove From List, then select Forget. Rejoin xfinitywifi.
When the pass is active but the device keeps looping, remove the saved hotspot entry and create a fresh connection. On Windows, select the taskbar Network or Wi-Fi icon, open Manage Wi-Fi connections, choose xfinitywifi, then select Connect. If the hotspot does not appear, select Refresh network list.
6. Keep your device identity stable
Private Wi-Fi address features change how a device appears to networks. For a hotspot pass with a device limit, a stable identity keeps the same phone or computer from being treated as a different device.
On iPhone or iPad with iOS 18 or later, open Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the More Info button next to xfinitywifi, tap Private Wi-Fi Address, then choose Fixed or Off. On macOS Sequoia 15 or later, open Apple menu > System Settings > Wi-Fi, open the details for xfinitywifi, then set Private Wi-Fi Address to Fixed or Off.
On Android 11 or later, open the settings page for xfinitywifi, find Privacy or the MAC address setting, choose Use device MAC, then reconnect and sign in again.
7. Reset networking after the quick fixes fail
- 1.iPhone or iPad: Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone or Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
- 2.Android: Open Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Bluetooth & Wi-Fi, then confirm the reset.
- 3.Windows 11: Open Start > Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset > Reset now > Yes. On Windows 10, use Settings > Network & internet > Status > Network reset.
Use a network reset when the device still refuses to reconnect after forgetting xfinitywifi. This removes saved Wi-Fi state, so you’ll need to join networks again afterward.
On a Windows laptop with a physical Wi-Fi switch or wireless function key, turn Wi-Fi on before resetting network settings. On a school, employer, parental-control, or otherwise managed device, contact the administrator before changing Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, certificate, private address, or network reset settings.
8. Get pass support or stop renewal
Use Xfinity’s pass-specific help when a valid hotspot, working portal, and fresh device connection still do not restore an active pass.
- From the NOW WiFi Pass product page, select Chat with Xfinity Assistant under Need help getting connected?, then ask for NOW WiFi Pass subscription or connection help.
- Open the NOW WiFi Pass purchase confirmation email and use the support phone number listed there. Xfinity forum employees repeatedly identify the NOW WiFi Pass team phone number as 855-216-8902 and chat as pass-specific support channels.
- To stop future charges, open the purchase confirmation email and select Unsubscribe, or opt out of auto-renew so the pass cancels after the 30-day subscription. Xfinity forum staff also says users can manage or cancel through the NOW Portal.
Do not use the old Xfinity WiFi Hotspots app as a fix. Xfinity announced that app would no longer work starting January 29, 2024, so delete it if it is still installed and use the manual xfinitywifi captive-portal flow for NOW WiFi Pass.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my NOW WiFi Pass keep asking me to sign in again?
The portal sign-in has not finished, JavaScript is disabled, or the device is changing its Wi-Fi identity. Rejoin xfinitywifi, enable JavaScript, and set a stable private address or device MAC for that network.
Can I use NOW WiFi Pass on more than two devices?
No. Xfinity says one NOW WiFi Pass connects up to 2 devices at the same time.
Does NOW WiFi Pass work on every Xfinity WiFi hotspot?
No. NOW WiFi Pass works on Xfinity-owned and operated hotspots. Use the official hotspot map and move to another listed hotspot when the current one fails.
What should I do if xfinitywifi does not appear?
On Windows, use Refresh network list from the Wi-Fi connection menu. On other devices, move closer to a mapped Xfinity hotspot, reopen Wi-Fi settings, and select xfinitywifi when it appears.
Is the old Xfinity WiFi Hotspots app still a fix?
No. Xfinity announced that the Xfinity WiFi Hotspots app would stop working starting January 29, 2024. NOW WiFi Pass users should connect manually to xfinitywifi and use the captive portal.
