When Disney+ leaves your iPhone stuck after ALLOW, the TV keeps waiting and the sign-in never finishes. Start with a fresh approval request, then move through browser activation, account fixes, network permissions, restarts, updates, and restrictions checks. These fixes apply to supported smart TVs and TV-connected devices that use an iPhone approval flow.
Refresh the Disney Plus approval request
Start over with a fresh login request, and sign in to Disney+ on the iPhone before you begin. Disney+ offers iPhone approval only on certain TV-connected devices, and both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
On the TV-connected device, open Disney+ again and choose LOG IN. Leave that screen visible while you switch to your iPhone.
Open Disney+ on the signed-in iPhone and wait for the device login request. Tap ALLOW, then follow any remaining prompts on the phone.
Use DisneyPlus.com/begin instead
Use this when the ALLOW prompt never appears, disappears too quickly, or stays stuck after you tap it. Disney+ also supports browser activation for TV login.
On the TV-connected device, launch Disney+ and select Log In.
When the TV shows a QR code or activation code, scan the QR code or open DisneyPlus.com/begin in Safari on your iPhone.
Enter the 8-digit code shown on the TV screen, then follow the prompts to log in. When browser sign-in finishes, return to the TV.
Sign in with email and password
Direct email sign-in only appears when the Disney+ TV app or device UI offers a standard login form. Use it when the TV app gives you email and password fields or when browser activation is not completing.
Open Disney+, or go to DisneyPlus.com, and select Log in.
Enter the email address and password used to sign up for Disney+, then select Log in to confirm.
If direct sign-in fails because Disney+ rejects the password, reset the account password next and retry TV login.
Reset your Disney Plus password
If Disney+ rejects your password on the iPhone or the TV, reset the Disney+/MyDisney password.
Go to DisneyPlus.com and select Log in. Enter the email address used for the Disney+ subscription, then select Continue.
Select Forgot Password?, or Having trouble logging in? if your login screen shows that option instead, and use the 6-digit one-time code sent to the account email. Create a new password when Disney+ prompts you, then try the TV login again.
Allow local network access
Open Settings on the iPhone.
Tap Privacy & Security.
Tap Local Network.
If Disney+ is listed, turn it on.
If iOS asks whether Disney+ can find and connect to devices on your local network, tap Allow.
If Disney+ is missing from Local Network, the app has not asked for local network access on this iPhone, so there is nothing to turn on. Move on to the Wi-Fi check.
Match the iPhone and TV Wi-Fi
Disney+ supports iPhone approval on certain TV-connected devices when both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi network before retrying ALLOW.
On iPhone, open Settings, tap Wi-Fi, and join the same network used by the TV device.
On Apple TV, open Settings, then Network, and confirm the Wi-Fi network. For other smart TVs or streaming sticks, use that device's network settings and connect to the same Wi-Fi name.
After both devices are on the same network, reopen Disney+ on the TV and retry the iPhone approval. If this method fails, close and reopen Disney+ on the iPhone next.
Restart stuck Disney Plus screens
If the Disney+ screen on the iPhone or TV stops responding, close and reopen the app, then restart the device if needed.
On iPhone, open the App Switcher, swipe right to find Disney+, swipe up on Disney+, then reopen it from the Home Screen or App Library.
Restart the iPhone if the approval request remains stuck. On iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later, press and hold either volume button with the side button until the power-off slider appears, drag the slider, wait 30 seconds, then hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.
On iPhone 6, 7, 8, or SE 2nd or 3rd generation, hold the side button until the power-off slider appears, drag it, wait 30 seconds, then hold the side button again until the Apple logo appears.
On iPhone SE 1st generation, iPhone 5, or earlier, hold the top button until the power-off slider appears, drag it, wait 30 seconds, then hold the top button until the Apple logo appears.
For Apple TV 4K, press the TV button twice quickly, swipe to the Disney+ app window, swipe up to close it, then open Disney+ again.
Restart Apple TV 4K by holding the TV button and the Back or Menu button until the status light blinks rapidly. Or disconnect Apple TV from the power outlet, wait five seconds, and reconnect it.
Update or reinstall Disney Plus
Open the App Store on your iPhone.
Tap the My Account button or your photo at the top of the screen.
Tap App Updates.
Tap Update next to Disney+, or tap Update All.
Turn on automatic updates from Settings, Apps, App Store, then App Updates.
Update the iPhone from Settings, General, then Software Update.
If an update is available, tap Download and Install and follow the onscreen instructions.
Update Apple TV from Settings, System, Software Updates, then Update Software.
Delete Disney+ on iPhone by touching and holding Disney+ on the Home Screen, tapping Remove App, then tapping Delete App.
Reinstall Disney+ from the App Store or the official Disney+ get-app page.
On Apple TV 4K, highlight Disney+ on the Home Screen, press and hold the clickpad or touch surface, choose Delete App, then choose Delete or Offload.
Reinstall Disney+ from the App Store on Apple TV.
Use the official App Store listing or Disney+ get-app page when reinstalling.
Check Family and managed-device restrictions
Screen Time blocks Disney+ when app age-rating limits are set below the Disney+ rating. With the updated parental controls in iOS 27, open Settings on the parent device, tap Family, tap the child's name, then tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. Select the apps content type under Content Restrictions and choose an age rating that allows Disney+. If your family still uses the previous version of Screen Time, open Settings, tap Screen Time, choose the child's name under Family, then open Content & Privacy Restrictions, App Store, Media, Web, & Games, and Apps, and choose an age rating that allows Disney+.
To approve an exception request, tap Review the request in Messages or in the notification, then approve the request.
For a work or school iPhone or iPad, check for a supervision message at the top of the main Settings page. If the device is supervised, ask the organization administrator to allow Disney+, network access, or Apple TV Remote pairing.
If restrictions are not the cause, use DisneyPlus.com/begin or direct email sign-in while the mobile approval prompt is failing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Disney Plus ask me to tap Allow on my iPhone?
The iPhone approval prompt confirms a TV-connected device sign-in request. It works on certain TV-connected devices when the iPhone is already signed in to Disney+ and is on the same Wi-Fi network as the TV. Tapping Allow signs the TV in to that account.
How do I log in to Disney Plus on my TV without tapping Allow?
Open Disney+ on the TV, choose Log In, open DisneyPlus.com/begin in a browser, and enter the 8-digit code shown on the TV. Direct email and password sign-in also works when the TV app offers that login screen.
Why is Disney Plus missing from Local Network settings?
Disney+ appears in Local Network only after the app asks iOS for local network access on that iPhone. If it is not listed, there is no Local Network setting to change for Disney+, so make sure the iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network instead.
What should I do if my work or school iPhone blocks Disney Plus approval?
Check for a supervised-device notice near the top of Settings. If the device is supervised, contact the organization administrator because managed restrictions control apps, network access, and Apple TV Remote pairing.
