Roblox gets stuck at login, refuses to open an experience, or stops halfway through loading. The right fix depends on where it stops and whether other experiences open. Start with the outage and connection checks, then jump to the instructions for your device.
Check whether Roblox or just one experience is down
Open Roblox Status to check for incidents affecting login, the website, or joining experiences. Wait for recovery if an incident affects what you are trying to do. Retry Roblox after the incident is resolved.
Try a different experience when no relevant outage is reported. If it opens, the failure is specific to the original experience. Allow extra loading time for a large experience on a slow connection.
Notify the creator if only their experience keeps failing. Broken scripts or excessive objects require a fix on their side. An empty map with your avatar visible does not, by itself, mean loading failed.
Test your connection when several experiences stall
An unreliable connection interrupts joining and loading experiences. Switch to another Wi-Fi network, or use mobile data on a cellular device. Retry Roblox on that connection.
Unplug your router from power for approximately 30 seconds. Reconnect the router, then retry Roblox once connectivity returns.
Connect your computer or console to the router with Ethernet if it supports wired networking. Test Roblox over Ethernet to isolate unreliable Wi-Fi.
Get the Android app responding again
These steps address an Android app that hangs or fails to open. On a Google Pixel, open Settings > Apps > See all apps > Roblox > Force stop. Other Android manufacturers use different app-management labels.
Tap OK to confirm, then reopen Roblox. If it still fails, select Settings > Apps > See all apps > Roblox > Storage & cache > Clear cache. Retry Roblox.
Install any Roblox update through the Google Play Store > profile icon > Manage apps & devices. Under Updates available, tap See details, then tap Update next to Roblox.
If the problem continues, return to Roblox's Storage & cache screen. Select Clear storage or Clear data. This removes local app data. Confirm with OK.
Sign in to Roblox again. For a persistent failure, uninstall Roblox through the Google Play Store > profile icon > Manage apps & devices > Manage > Roblox > Uninstall. Install Roblox again from its official Google Play listing.
Reopen and update Roblox on iPhone or iPad
Use these fixes when the Roblox app freezes or closes on your Apple device. Clearing Safari website data does not clear the native Roblox app's entire cache.
On an iPhone with Face ID, swipe up from the bottom and pause to show your open apps. On a Home-button model, double-click the Home button instead. Swipe the Roblox preview upward to close it, then open Roblox again.
If it still fails, bring up the iPhone's power-off slider: hold either volume button and the side button on Face ID models, or the side button alone on iPhone 6, 7, 8, and SE second- or third-generation models. Drag the power-off slider. After 30 seconds, hold the side button to turn the iPhone back on.
Check for a Roblox update on iPhone or iPad through the App Store > profile icon > App Updates. Install the Roblox update if one is offered. If no app update is available, update the device software, as Apple recommends.
For a persistent failure, touch and hold the Roblox icon. Select Remove App > Delete App > Delete. Removing only the Home Screen icon does not uninstall Roblox. Reinstall Roblox from its official App Store listing.
Restore browser loading and the Play button
Use an updated supported browser: Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge on Windows; Chrome, Firefox, or Safari on Mac. Test another browser from that list to narrow down the failure.
If the website opens but the installed Player does not, select an experience's Play button. At the application prompt, select Roblox and confirm.
For website failures in desktop Chrome, test Roblox through More > New Incognito Window. If it works, return to the normal window and turn off extensions through More > Extensions > Manage extensions. Reload Roblox, then re-enable extensions individually to identify an interfering extension or ad blocker.
To clear Chrome's browsing data, open More > Delete browsing data and choose All time. Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, deselect unrelated data, then select Delete data. Sign in to Roblox again afterward; clearing cookies also removes saved sign-ins for affected websites.
Repair a stubborn Windows or Mac installation
Reinstalling addresses damaged files in the desktop Roblox installation. Restart your computer first, then retry Roblox before reinstalling. Close other running programs before starting the installation.
Install Roblox again from the official desktop download page. For the website-installed Windows version, try this before uninstalling to replace damaged files. If that fails on Windows 11, uninstall through Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Roblox > More > Uninstall.
On a Mac, quit Roblox before removing it. For a stuck app, press Command+Option+Esc to open the force-quit window. Select Roblox in that window, then choose Force Quit.
Move Roblox to Trash from Finder > Applications. Restart your computer after uninstalling. Reinstall the official desktop application.
For a Microsoft Store installation, install Roblox - Windows, identified by its blue icon. Sign in with your existing Roblox account. Complete Xbox-account linking when requested.
Test the replacement app. Uninstall the older light-gray-icon app once the replacement works.
Check compatibility when updates and reinstalls do not help
Compare your computer with Roblox's requirements: a 64-bit installation of Windows 10 or Windows 11 with DirectX feature level 10 or higher, or macOS 10.13 or later. Roblox does not support Linux.
Check your mobile device against its requirements: iOS or iPadOS 14 or later, or Android 8.0 or later with OpenGL ES 3.0. Use a supported device if Android displays a minimum-requirements error that cannot be dismissed. For the separate, dismissible Android performance warning, tap outside the warning to continue.
For Windows graphics errors, press Windows+R to open Run. Enter dxdiag, then press Enter. Inspect Feature Levels under Display, Display 1, or Display 2. Hardware without feature level 10 or higher requires replacement or a different device.
Install the latest compatible graphics driver from your graphics manufacturer's official support page, matching your GPU model and operating system. Close the application identified in an incompatible-software or anti-cheat error, then retry Roblox after closing that application. Clearing app data cannot add missing hardware capabilities.
Use the controls for Chromebook, Fire tablet, and consoles
After checking Roblox's status and testing your connection, use the controls for your device below. Chromebook, Fire tablet, and console installations have different update and repair routes.
On Chromebook, select the time > Settings > About ChromeOS > Check for updates. Restart the Chromebook when prompted. For a persistent Chromebook app failure, open Launcher, then right-click Roblox.
Select Uninstall and confirm the removal. Reinstall Roblox through Google Play. Roblox on Chromebook uses the Android app and requires Google Play support.
On a supported Fire tablet, select Settings > Apps & Notifications > Manage All Applications or See all... apps > Roblox > Storage > Clear Cache. The separate Clear Data or Clear Storage option removes local app data.
Check PlayStation service status if Roblox will not launch on PlayStation. On PS5, press the PS button to access the power controls. On PS4, hold the PS button to open the Quick Menu. Select Power > Restart PS5 on PS5, or Power > Restart PS4 on PS4.
Check PS5 system updates through Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings. On PS4, use Settings > System Software Update.
For a padlock or license-related PS5 failure, highlight Roblox. Press the Options button, then select Restore License. For the corresponding PS4 license fix, select Settings > Account Management > Restore Licenses > Restore.
For Xbox One, open Roblox's Xbox One App General Troubleshooting page. Follow its linked Xbox guide, An application won't start on Xbox One.
Give Roblox Support the details it needs
If Roblox still will not load, send Support the details needed to reproduce the failure.
- 1.Open Roblox Support.
- 2.Provide your Roblox username, affected device, and operating system.
- 3.Include the exact error message or code and explain where loading stops.
- 4.Describe the steps that trigger the failure and the fixes you have already tried.
- 5.Mention recent device or network changes, plus your console account name when applicable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can I open Roblox but not join a private server?
For error 524 on a private server, check access permissions. Ask the owner to add your account under Server Members or enable Friends Allowed. Group-only experiences require membership in the relevant group, and child-account restrictions still apply.
Does error 292 mean I need to delete files?
No. Roblox's iOS error 292 concerns low memory, which is different from insufficient storage space. Select Leave at the warning. Close unused active apps, then try a less demanding experience. A device with more RAM is another option.
Why does Roblox work at home but fail on school or work Wi-Fi?
School and workplace networks impose their own access restrictions. Ask the administrator to check Roblox's HTTP/HTTPS domains, asset and CAPTCHA services, UDP ports 49152–65535, and app updates. Roblox's education-network guidance says experience launching does not support proxies.
Should I turn off my antivirus or firewall to make Roblox load?
Update your security software first, then allow the official Roblox installation through its application-permission controls. On Windows, open Windows Security > Firewall & network protection > Allow an app through firewall > Change settings. Select Roblox, or use Allow another app to locate its executable. If you briefly disable a firewall for diagnosis, re-enable it and add the appropriate exception.
