Roblox won’t open, an experience keeps loading, or you get kicked out before you can play. Outages, connection problems, app failures, and account restrictions each need a different fix. Start with the service and connection checks, then jump to the section that matches what’s happening on your device.

Check whether Roblox is down

Open status.roblox.com to check for active incidents. Wait for recovery if Roblox reports a service problem. Reinstalling the app cannot fix a Roblox outage. Try joining again after service returns.

Try a different experience if the service is operating normally. If other experiences work, focus on the game that fails. Give a large map additional loading time before leaving.

Report a persistently broken or empty experience to its creator. Broken scripts and excessive objects need a creator-side fix.

Tip: Test more than one experience before spending time repairing your app.

If joining fails, test your connection

An unstable connection or a network that blocks Roblox prevents you from joining an experience. Try another internet connection to check whether the failure follows your network. On a computer, test Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi. On a phone or tablet, switch from cellular data to stable Wi-Fi.

Contact your internet service provider if the failure follows the connection. On a school or work network, ask the administrator to check whether its filtering blocks Roblox or its required services. Roblox experience launching does not support proxies.

Get an unresponsive mobile app running again

These fixes address mobile app freezes and persistent app failures.

On an iPhone with Face ID, swipe up from the bottom and pause to open the app switcher. On a Home-button iPhone, double-click Home instead. Swipe the Roblox preview upward to close it. Reopen Roblox to test it.

If it still fails, update Roblox through App Store > your profile icon > App Updates. Check for an iOS or iPadOS software update if no Roblox update is offered.

For a persistent iPhone or iPad problem, touch and hold Roblox. Select Remove App > Delete App > Delete. This removes local app data. Redownload Roblox from its official App Store listing.

On a Pixel phone, force-stop Roblox through Settings > Apps > See all apps > Roblox > Force stop > OK. Other Android manufacturers use different app-management labels. Reopen Roblox.

If the problem continues, update Roblox through Google Play Store > your profile icon > Manage apps & devices > Updates available. On Pixel, clear its cache through Settings > Apps > See all apps > Roblox > Storage & cache > Clear cache. Try Roblox again before taking the next step.

If it still fails, reset its app data through the same storage screen using Clear storage or Clear data, then OK. This erases local app data. Reopen Roblox. Sign in again.

On a Fire tablet, force-stop Roblox through Settings > Apps & Games > Manage All Applications > Roblox > Force Stop. Fire OS menu labels vary. Reopen Roblox on the tablet.

If force-stopping fails, select Uninstall on its app-management screen. Reinstall Roblox from Amazon Appstore.

Fix website and browser launch failures

Use these steps when the website fails to load or selecting Play doesn’t open Roblox. If you’re already inside an experience, skip to the section for crashes or lag.

Update your browser. Roblox supports Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on Windows, and Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on Mac. Test another supported browser if updating does not help.

Sign into Roblox.com. Open an experience. Select Play. Complete the installation prompt if Roblox asks you to install the player.

Choose Roblox if the browser asks which application should open the link. Confirm the application choice.

In Chrome, open More > Extensions > Manage extensions. Turn off extensions to test for interference, including ad blockers and Roblox-related extensions. Retry Roblox.

If Roblox now works, re-enable one extension. Test Roblox after each extension you re-enable to identify the culprit.

For persistent Chrome website problems, open More > Delete browsing data. Choose All time. Select Cookies and other site data. Select Cached images and files.

Select Delete data. Sign into Roblox again.

On Mac, try the Roblox Dock icon if the app is installed in Applications but website launching fails.

Repair a desktop installation that keeps failing

Restart your computer before reinstalling Roblox. Retry the app after the restart. Close other programs, including existing Roblox processes, before installing or updating it.

If you use the older gray-icon Microsoft Store app, install Roblox - Windows from Microsoft Store. The blue-icon app is its replacement; Roblox says the older release will eventually stop working. Launch the new app. Sign into your existing Roblox account.

Complete Microsoft/Xbox account linking. Confirm that the replacement works. Uninstall the older app.

For a Windows desktop installation that still fails, uninstall Roblox through Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Roblox > More > Uninstall on Windows 11. Preserve any Studio projects you deliberately saved inside C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\AppData\Local\Roblox before removing leftover files. Open C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\AppData\Local in File Explorer, replacing YOUR-USERNAME with your Windows username.

Delete the Roblox folder to remove leftovers from the affected installation. Reinstall through Roblox’s official download page or the current Microsoft Store release. Switching between these official versions is also a fix to try for persistent “Failed to load library” errors.

On Mac, press Command+Option+Esc to open the force-quit window. Select Roblox. Select Force Quit. Move Roblox from Finder’s Applications folder to Trash.

Reinstall it through Roblox’s official download page. Tip: Use Roblox’s website or an official app store when replacing the app.

Reduce lag and handle low-memory warnings

If Roblox opens but play is sluggish, start by closing unnecessary resource-intensive applications. Open the experience menu, or press Esc on a computer. Select Settings.

Set Graphics Mode to Manual if your client shows that control. If your menu instead shows a Graphics Quality Auto toggle, turn it off. Move Graphics Quality toward the left to reduce the graphics load. Select Resume to test performance.

For error 292 on iPhone or iPad, select Leave. That warning concerns available memory, or RAM. Free storage space is a different resource. If performance remains poor after closing demanding apps and lowering graphics, try a less demanding experience or a more capable device.

Check compatibility and security errors

Use these checks when Roblox refuses to run, shows a compatibility warning, or names software that is blocking it. Reinstalling cannot make unsupported hardware meet Roblox’s requirements.

Compare your computer with Roblox’s requirements: 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11, or macOS 10.13 or later. Windows graphics hardware must support DirectX feature level 10 or higher. Linux is not officially supported.

Check your mobile device against the minimum requirements: iOS or iPadOS 14 or later, or Android 8.0 or later with OpenGL ES 3.0. Use another device if Roblox displays an unskippable compatibility warning.

For Windows graphics errors or library-loading failures, install available updates through Settings > Windows Update on Windows 11, or Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update on Windows 10. Right-click Start. Open Device Manager > Display adapters. Right-click your graphics processor.

Choose Update driver. Close the associated software if a Roblox anti-cheat message names an incompatible application or file. Remove unofficial or modified Roblox installations if you receive a modified-client warning. Install the official version from Roblox’s website or your device’s official app store.

Update your antivirus if it flags genuine Roblox files. Use the antivirus product’s false-positive or permitted-application controls if those official files remain incorrectly blocked. The controls differ by product.

Resolve login and account restrictions

These steps address sign-in failures and account limits that block access to an experience. Correct an inaccurate computer date, time, or time zone. Clock errors cause browser login problems. Retry browser sign-in.

Allow .arkoselabs.com and .funcaptcha.com in your content blocker or filter if the login verification challenge will not load.

Select Forgot Password or Username? on the login screen if you cannot remember your password. Enter your account email. Select Submit. Follow the email’s Reset Password link.

Contact Roblox Support if you have neither a recovery email nor a registered phone number.

For error 264, close the same account’s running game on the other device. Retry on the device you want to use.

Ask the linked parent to review restrictions if a child account cannot enter a game. To unblock a specific game, have the parent use Settings > Parental Controls > the child’s account > Content restrictions > Blocked games > Unblock. Have the parent review a reached time limit through Settings > Parental Controls > the child’s account > Screen time > Manage > Screen time limit > Daily limit.

For an account moderation restriction, follow the appeal route named in the moderation notice. If it includes a Violations & Appeals link, open it.

Select Appeal. If the notice directs you to the Roblox Support form instead, submit your username and a brief reason for the appeal. An appeal does not guarantee reinstatement.

Give Roblox Support the details it needs

If the relevant fixes have failed, open the form through Roblox Support and include these details.

  1. 1.Enter your Roblox username and, for a console-specific problem, your console account identifier.
  2. 2.Include your device and operating system version.
  3. 3.Copy the exact error message or code and identify the affected experience or webpage.
  4. 4.Explain the steps that trigger the failure and the troubleshooting you have already tried.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Roblox error 267 mean?

Error 267 indicates an experience ban. Contact the experience’s creator through available Roblox messaging, its community wall, or published social links. Roblox Support cannot remove a creator-issued experience ban.

How do I fix a stuck Roblox character?

In an experience that allows avatar resets, open the upper-left experience menu and select Respawn, or press R while the menu is open. Confirm with Reset.

Why does a game reject my Android or Fire device even though Roblox opens?

Some experiences enforce additional Android integrity requirements. There is no user toggle that adds missing attestation hardware, and Roblox says Fire devices are not expected to satisfy this feature. Try an experience without that requirement or use a compatible device.

Why can’t I play with friends on other platforms from PlayStation?

Open Roblox’s More > Settings > PlayStation Network Settings > Cross-Platform Play. Enable it to play with users on other platforms.
