To fix a Corsair mouse not showing up in iCUE, connect it directly to your computer through USB or its 2.4GHz receiver, update iCUE, then repair the app on Windows if detection still fails. For compatible wireless mice, Bluetooth pairing alone does not provide iCUE software control. Check your connection and exact model before changing firmware or reinstalling software.

The short version

  • Connect directly: Bypass hubs and docks, and use wired USB or your compatible mouse’s 2.4GHz receiver.
  • Update first: Install available iCUE software and device-module updates.
  • Repair on Windows: Select Modify for iCUE 5 in your installed applications.
  • Match the symptom: Wireless pairing, failures after sleep, and Mac accessory permissions need different fixes.
  • Reinstall last: Back up profiles before a clean installation removes your iCUE settings.

Check the connection and mouse model

Reconnect your mouse or wireless receiver directly to a USB port on the computer. Temporarily bypass USB hubs, switches, extensions, docks, and USB ports built into a keyboard or monitor. Corsair recommends this especially when detection stops after an iCUE update.

For a compatible wireless mouse, connect its USB data cable or insert its receiver and move the wireless-mode switch to 2.4GHz, then open iCUE. A working Bluetooth connection does not establish iCUE control. KATAR PRO WIRELESS has no USB data connection, so use its receiver.

Check your exact model’s software requirements before repairing iCUE. Corsair directs SABRE v2 PRO ULTRALIGHT WIRELESS owners to Web Hub for customization and describes iCUE support as forthcoming. For that model, use Web Hub instead of reinstalling iCUE to try to add support.

For HARPOON v2 WIRELESS, connect the mouse by USB-C, open Corsair Web Hub, authorize access, and select the mouse. Corsair specifies Web Hub for this model’s configuration; using it does not guarantee an iCUE device tile.

A firmware update replaces the device’s firmware, so keep the cable connected and the browser open until it finishes. If Web Hub offers an update for HARPOON v2 WIRELESS, select Update Firmware, then select Proceed.

Update iCUE and its device modules

Open iCUE, select the settings gear, then open Software Updates and select Check for Updates. Allow available software and device-module updates to install, then restart your computer. Updates can add support for newer mice and correct detection bugs.

If you have a SCIMITAR ELITE WIRELESS that fails detection wirelessly, connect it by USB and run that same update check. Corsair included a receiver-module fix in iCUE 5.5.134 and later, so install the current release. Enable Automatic Download to receive subsequent module updates.

If you need to install iCUE, get the installer from Corsair’s official downloads page. Under iCUE SOFTWARE, select DOWNLOAD FOR WINDOWS or DOWNLOAD FOR macOS. Use this installer for installation or reinstallation and the in-app updater for an existing installation.

Repair iCUE and check for software conflicts

On Windows 11, search for Installed Apps, find iCUE 5, open its three-dot menu, and select Modify. Repair starts automatically; reopen iCUE afterward and check for your mouse. Corsair says repeating the repair can sometimes be necessary.

On Windows 10, search for Apps & Features, find iCUE 5, and select Modify. Reopen iCUE after the repair. If your mouse remains missing, check for another application interfering with iCUE.

Update Windows and any competing hardware-control applications, then close or disable programs that control lighting or read peripheral inputs. Corsair names NZXT Cam, Asus Armory Crate, MSI Mystic Light, Wallpaper engine, and Riot Vanguard as possible conflicts. Retest iCUE after closing the suspected application.

If another program takes control or interferes, open the iCUE settings gear and select SDK in iCUE 5.14 or newer. Turn off iCUE SDK and Game SDK, then retest. A missing mouse tile alone does not establish that an integration caused the problem.

If software conflicts or installation leftovers obstruct ordinary repair, retry it in Safe Mode with Networking. At the Windows 10 or Windows 11 sign-in screen, hold Shift while selecting Power > Restart. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart, then press F5. Repeat the iCUE Modify repair and restart normally afterward.

Pair the wireless mouse with its receiver

If your rechargeable mouse appears over USB but fails wirelessly, re-pair it with its receiver. This procedure requires a mouse that is accessible over USB and exposes USB Wireless Receiver Pairing. If USB detection also fails, continue with the other applicable fixes.

Set the mouse to 2.4GHz and connect both its USB cable and wireless receiver to the computer. In iCUE, open the mouse’s Device Settings > USB Wireless Receiver Pairing, select Pair, then select Start Process. Disconnect the cable after pairing finishes.

KATAR PRO WIRELESS uses a different process because it has no USB data port. Select its receiver in iCUE, open Device Settings, and select Pair. Hold the mouse’s DPI button while moving its power switch to 2.4GHz, then release the button.

Fix detection that fails after sleep or startup

For a Windows computer that loses the mouse after startup or waking from sleep, unplug the mouse or receiver and reconnect it. If this repeatedly restores detection, check USB power settings. These adjustments apply to that startup or sleep pattern.

Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings. Expand USB settings > USB selective suspend setting, select Disabled, then select Apply. If your Windows system does not expose this setting, skip the adjustment and continue with the other applicable fixes.

Update firmware once the device is detected

A firmware update through iCUE requires the relevant mouse or receiver to be detected first, possibly through a wired connection. In iCUE 5.14 or newer, connect the hardware directly to the computer. For wireless hardware with a USB data connection, connect both the mouse cable and receiver.

Installing an update replaces the device’s firmware, so keep the hardware connected throughout. Select the device tile’s settings wheel, select Check for Updates, and install an offered update. If the mouse remains entirely absent, continue with the applicable Mac checks or clean reinstallation.

Allow the mouse connection on your Mac

On an Apple-silicon Mac laptop, unlock the Mac, reconnect the mouse or receiver, and select Allow when asked to approve accessory access. A rejected accessory can receive power without a working data connection. Lighting alone therefore does not confirm that the Mac has allowed the connection.

To adjust future approvals on an Apple-silicon Mac laptop, open the Apple menu > System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessories > Allow accessories to connect. Choose your desired approval behavior. On a supervised Mac, an administrator may control this setting; contact that administrator if you cannot change it.

For an M3 MacBook with a notice identifying blocked system software from Corsair Memory, Inc., open System Settings > Privacy & Security and select Allow. This is a separate check from USB accessory approval. Use it only when that specific blocked-software notice is present.

Clean reinstall iCUE after the simpler fixes

A clean reinstallation removes iCUE settings, so back up your profiles before proceeding. On Windows with iCUE 5, obtain and run the official iCUE Removal Tool. Reinstall iCUE using a fresh installer from Corsair’s downloads page.

If installation cannot finish on Windows, disconnect VPN or tunneling software and bring the operating system up to date. Run the official iCUE installer with administrator privileges. These steps apply when installation or reinstallation is blocked.

On macOS, uninstalling with settings deletion removes iCUE settings for all users, so back up your profiles first. Run the official installer, select Next > Uninstall iCUE, then select Delete Settings for All Users. Select Uninstall, finish removal, and manually restart the Mac. Run the installer again, select Next, complete installation, and select Start iCUE.

If the Mac uninstaller cannot run, deleting the Corsair iCUE5 software folder removes the installed software. Open Macintosh HD > Applications and move the Corsair iCUE5 software folder to the bin. Then reinstall using the official installer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should you do if iCUE says Failed to Start iCUE Service?

Search Windows for Services, then right-click each iCUE-related or Corsair-related service and open Properties. Set Startup type to Automatic, select Apply, and restart the computer. These changes can require administrator access and apply specifically to the Failed to Start iCUE Service error.

Can nearby USB devices interfere with a Corsair wireless mouse?

Yes, nearby USB 3.0 devices can interfere with wireless communication, causing lost inputs, reduced range, or intermittent communication. Move the receiver to a front USB port away from those devices and increase the separation. This does not explain a receiver that the operating system never detects.

Can KATAR PRO WIRELESS use multipoint pairing?

Corsair excludes multipoint pairing for KATAR PRO WIRELESS. It also excludes pairing this model with VOYAGER A1600, so use the mouse’s receiver-pairing procedure.

What should you try if a firmware update fails?

Close other RGB and monitoring applications, then try another front or rear USB port. If another computer is available, try updating there. On Windows, update the operating system and motherboard or chipset drivers before retrying.
