To connect a Logitech wireless mouse, turn it on and plug in its supplied, already paired USB receiver, or put a Bluetooth model into pairing mode and select it in your device’s Bluetooth settings. Your mouse’s model determines which connections it supports. If you bought a replacement receiver, check its compatibility and complete the appropriate pairing steps below.
The short version
- Original receiver: Plug in the supplied, already paired receiver and turn on the mouse.
- Bluetooth: Put a compatible mouse into pairing mode, then select it in your device’s Bluetooth settings.
- Replacement receiver: Match the receiver to your exact mouse before pairing it with the appropriate Logitech tool.
- Multiple computers: Select the intended Easy-Switch channel before pairing a compatible mouse.
| Connection method | What you need | Setup route |

| Replacement gaming receiver | A supported gaming mouse and compatible receiver | Use G HUB’s Device Pairing Tool |
Choose the connection your mouse supports
Check your mouse’s model and receiver specification before choosing a method. A wireless mouse does not necessarily support Bluetooth, and Logitech receivers are not interchangeable. Logi Bolt and Unifying devices cannot use each other’s receivers, while LIGHTSPEED compatibility depends on the mouse and receiver combination.
If you have the original receiver, start with USB setup below. Choose Bluetooth when your mouse supports it and you want to connect without a receiver. If you need to pair a replacement receiver, use the receiver instructions after the Bluetooth steps.
Connect with the original USB receiver
Remove the battery isolation tab or install the battery your mouse requires, then switch the mouse on. Insert its supplied receiver into a compatible USB port on your computer. An already paired receiver should let you use the mouse without running pairing software.
This setup applies to models such as the M185 with its nano receiver and the MX Master 4 with its included Logi Bolt receiver. Package contents vary by model and edition, so check what came with your mouse. If the receiver was purchased separately, use the pairing procedure for that receiver type.
On a Mac that asks permission to connect the USB accessory, select Allow. If you previously ignored that prompt, unplug the receiver and open System Settings > Privacy & Security. Under Allow accessories to connect, select Ask every time, reconnect the receiver, then select Allow.
Pair through Bluetooth on Windows
Switch on your Bluetooth mouse and put it into pairing mode. On an Easy-Switch model, briefly press the Easy-Switch button to select the channel you want, then hold it for three seconds until that channel’s light flashes rapidly. If your mouse does not have Easy-Switch, use its model-specific pairing control.
In Windows 11, open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices and turn on Bluetooth. Select Add device > Bluetooth, then select your mouse’s name. Select Done when pairing finishes.
You can also pair through Windows 11 Quick Settings while the mouse is discoverable. Select the taskbar’s Network, Sound, or Battery icon, then turn on the Bluetooth tile. Select its Manage Bluetooth devices chevron, choose the mouse under New devices, and select Done when pairing finishes.
If your mouse and PC support Swift Pair, keep the mouse near the PC and hold its connect button for at least three seconds until the light flashes rapidly. Select Yes if Windows asks to enable Swift Pair, then select Connect in the nearby-device notification. If no notification appears, use the Bluetooth settings route above.
If your PC lacks Bluetooth hardware, connect a compatible USB Bluetooth adapter before pairing. Your mouse must still support Bluetooth, because an adapter cannot convert a receiver-only mouse into a Bluetooth model.
Connect to a Mac or Chromebook
On your Mac, make the mouse discoverable using its pairing control. Open the Apple menu > System Settings > Bluetooth, point to the mouse in the device list, and select Connect. Select Accept if prompted.
To reconnect a mouse already paired with your Mac, turn it on and select its saved channel if it has Easy-Switch. Open Control Center > Bluetooth and select the mouse. A short press of the mouse’s Easy-Switch button selects a saved connection; holding it starts pairing instead.
For a Chromebook, put the mouse into pairing mode, then select the time at the bottom right of the screen. Select Bluetooth, turn it on, and select + Pair new device. Select your mouse and check that it appears under Currently connected.
Connect to an iPad or Android device
To pair with an iPad, turn on your compatible Bluetooth mouse and put it into pairing mode. Open Settings > Bluetooth, then select the mouse under Other Devices. For later reconnection, select its name under My Devices.
Bluetooth mouse support requires iPadOS 13.4 or later, though your Logitech model can require a newer version. To use a compatible USB receiver mouse, connect its paired receiver to the iPad, using an appropriate USB-C or Lightning adapter when needed, then turn on the mouse. Compatibility depends on the mouse, receiver, adapter, and iPad.
On Android, put the mouse into pairing mode, swipe down from the top of the screen, and touch and hold Bluetooth. Select Pair new device, then select your mouse’s name. To reconnect an already paired mouse, select it under Saved devices; menu labels can differ by device manufacturer.
Pair a replacement Bolt or Unifying receiver
Confirm that your replacement receiver matches the mouse before installing software. Check for the orange Unifying symbol when identifying a Unifying device, and remember that a Bolt mouse cannot pair with a Unifying receiver. For an ordinary nano receiver, confirm the exact replacement receiver and supported pairing procedure with Logitech.
On a supported Windows PC or Mac, open the Logi Options+ download page, check its supported-device list, and download the version for your operating system. The current Mac download requires macOS 14 or later. Your mouse’s Bluetooth compatibility is separate from the companion app’s requirements.
For a Bolt receiver, plug it in and open Options+, then select Add Device > Logi Bolt receiver. Hold the mouse’s connect button for three seconds until its light flashes rapidly, then select CONNECT beside the mouse. Perform the button sequence shown by the app and wait for the connected-device screen; follow the displayed sequence because the verification clicks vary.
For a Unifying receiver, insert it and open Options+, then select + ADD DEVICE > Logi Unifying Receiver. Turn on your compatible mouse and complete the pairing instructions. Logitech also labels this route Add Devices > Unifying Receiver, so choose the Unifying entry shown in your app.
Logitech says Logi Web Connect currently works on ChromeOS, so on Windows or macOS use the Options+ steps above. To pair a compatible Bolt mouse through a browser on a Chromebook, connect the receiver and open Logi Web Connect in the latest version of Chrome, Edge, or Opera. Select Continue, then Select Receiver, and choose the receiver in the browser’s device chooser. Select Add Device, then hold the mouse’s connect button for three seconds. Select CONNECT beside the discovered mouse, perform the displayed verification clicks, and select Continue.
Logitech directs users of the standalone Logi Bolt desktop app to Options+. Logitech no longer supports or maintains the standalone Unifying Software or Logitech Connection Utility. Use Options+ for supported Unifying devices, and confirm the supported replacement procedure with Logitech for a nano-receiver mouse.
Connect a Logitech gaming mouse
Start with your gaming mouse’s supplied receiver and its model-specific connection controls. On the G309, insert the AA battery, switch on the mouse, and insert its LIGHTSPEED receiver. Briefly press the connection button if necessary to leave Bluetooth mode.
To connect a G309 by Bluetooth instead, briefly press its connection button to select Bluetooth, then select G309 in the host’s Bluetooth settings. Hold that button to begin a new pairing when changing Bluetooth hosts. Other Logitech G mice can use different controls, so check your model’s instructions before using the G309 button sequence.
For a compatible replacement gaming receiver, download and install Logitech G HUB for your operating system, then connect the receiver. Open the three-bar menu and select Settings > SUPPORT > Device Pairing Tool. Choose the mouse-pairing option, follow the wizard, and install any firmware update it requires. The receiver determines which mouse models the wizard offers, so confirm compatibility if yours is missing.
Fix a mouse that does not connect
Confirm that the mouse is switched on, its battery isolation tab is removed, and its required battery is installed. Check that you have the correct receiver or a Bluetooth-capable model for Bluetooth pairing. On an Easy-Switch mouse, select the intended channel and hold the Easy-Switch button for three seconds until its light flashes rapidly before searching again.
When Windows 11 cannot find the mouse, open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices. Under Device settings > Bluetooth devices discovery, select Advanced. Search again while the mouse is in pairing mode.
For a failed existing Windows Bluetooth connection, return to Devices and select More options beside the mouse. Select Remove device, then Yes. Put the mouse into pairing mode and add it again through Add device > Bluetooth.
On a Mac, open the Apple menu > System Settings > Bluetooth, hold Control while clicking the mouse’s name, and select Forget. Put the mouse back into pairing mode, then select Connect when it returns to the list. If Options+ cannot detect a mouse that is not actively connected, open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth, enable Logi Options+, and select Quit & Reopen.
On Android, touch and hold Bluetooth in Quick Settings, then open the settings icon beside your mouse, selecting See all if necessary. Select Forget, then put the mouse into pairing mode. Select Pair new device and choose the mouse again.
For a Bolt pairing that needs to be replaced, keep the mouse switched on and select the trash-can icon beside it in Options+. Select YES, REMOVE, then repeat Add Device > Logi Bolt receiver and complete the pairing sequence. You still need a compatible Bolt mouse and receiver.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one Logitech receiver connect both a mouse and a keyboard?
You can connect up to six compatible devices to one Unifying receiver. For a supported LIGHTSPEED mouse and keyboard receiver combination, open G HUB’s Device Pairing Tool, select the device, and select Continue. Select the keyboard receiver, select Continue, choose the mouse in the dropdown, and select Begin Pairing. Complete the displayed instructions; only supported receiver and mouse combinations work.
Can a charging cable connect a Logitech wireless mouse?
You can use a cable for wired operation on models that support it, including the G903. Connect the G903 to your computer with its data-and-charging cable to switch from wireless to wired operation. A charging port alone does not establish that capability, so check your exact model’s wired-operation support.
Can Logi Web Connect work without an internet connection?
Yes, after you install it as a web app while online. Use your supported browser’s web-app installation control, then launch the installed app to use its receiver-pairing workflow offline.
Can the mouse switch computers when you move across the edge of the screen?
Yes, if your mouse supports Logitech Flow. Install Options+ on each computer, pair the mouse to each one on different Easy-Switch channels, and connect the computers to the same wired or wireless network. Enable and complete Flow setup on each computer with an internet connection available for initial setup. You can then move the pointer across a screen edge to switch computers.
Does POWERPLAY replace the mouse’s wireless receiver?
The original POWERPLAY system has a built-in receiver for compatible mice. Connect it to your computer, open G HUB’s Settings > SUPPORT > Device Pairing Tool, choose the POWERPLAY receiver and compatible mouse, and complete the wizard. POWERPLAY 2 has no wireless receiver, so you still need your mouse’s receiver.
