To delete your Fitbit account with Google sign-in, open Google Health, tap your profile picture or initial, select Your data in Google Health, then select Delete Google Health from your Google Account and complete the deletion flow. Google Health is the current replacement for Fitbit. You can also delete the service through your Google Account in a browser.

Deleting Google Health removes its service data while keeping the rest of your Google Account. Deleting the entire Google Account also removes other services and content. Sign in only through Google’s own app or website, and never share a code, password, or remote access with someone who contacts you.

The short version

Prepare before closing your account

Cancel Premium separately and resolve any associated child accounts before closing your own account. If you manage a child’s Google Health service, use the child-specific options below to handle that account first.

The current Google Health deletion steps apply when you sign in with a Google Account. Start with the account you use for Google Health so you select the correct service and data.

Delete Google Health through the app

Deleting the Google Health service removes its associated data. Open Google Health and tap your profile picture or initial. Select Your data in Google Health, then select Delete Google Health from your Google Account and sign in.

On the page named Delete a Google service, tap Delete beside Google Health. Read the confirmation checkbox statement and check it to confirm your choice, then tap Delete Google Health service. If you cannot complete the flow, use Google Health account deletion help for assistance.

Close the service in a browser

Deleting Google Health removes its service data from the selected account. Open your Google Account in a desktop or mobile browser and sign in with the account used for Google Health. Select Data & privacy, then find Tools and select Remove data from services you no longer use.

On the page named Delete a Google service, sign in again when requested and select Delete beside Google Health. Read the confirmation statement and check its box, then select Delete Google Health service. This route does not require the Google Health app.

Reach deletion from Android settings

Removing Google Health through Android settings deletes the same service and associated data. On your Android phone or tablet, open Settings, select your account entry and your name, then select Manage your Google Account. Select Data & privacy, followed by Remove data from services you no longer use.

Sign in when requested and select Delete beside Google Health. Read the confirmation statement and check its box, then select Delete Google Health service. If your settings do not match the starting path, use the browser route above.

Use Gmail on an iPhone or iPad

Deleting Google Health from Gmail’s account settings removes the Google Health service and its data. Open Gmail while signed in to the relevant Google Account, then tap your profile picture or initial. Select Manage your Google Account, followed by Data & privacy.

Under Tools, tap Remove data from services you no longer use and sign in when requested. Tap Delete beside Google Health, read and complete the confirmation checkbox, and tap Delete Google Health service. You can use the browser route instead to reach the same account controls.

Delete a child’s Google Health service

Deleting a child’s Google Health service removes that child’s associated service data. As the family manager, open Google Health, tap your profile picture or initial, and select Switch account. Sign in to the child’s account and open the child’s profile.

Select Your data in Google Health, then select Delete Google Health from your Google Account and tap Delete. Read and accept the displayed terms before tapping Delete Google Health service. These family instructions include Fitbit Ace users; for Fitbit Ace LTE, follow Google’s separate account guidance for that device.

The computer alternative also deletes the child’s Google Health service and associated data. On a computer, sign in to the child’s Google Account and select Data & privacy, followed by Remove data from services you no longer use. Sign in again and choose Google Health. Complete the displayed confirmation and select Delete Google Health service.

Delete your entire Google Account

Deleting your entire Google Account removes other Google services and content as well as Google Health data. Use this option only if you intend to close the whole Google Account. To keep your other Google services, use one of the Google Health service-deletion routes above.

Open your Google Account and select Data & privacy. Find Your data & privacy options, select More options, then select Delete your Google Account. Follow the displayed authentication and confirmation instructions.

Delete a child’s entire Google Account

Deleting a child’s entire Google Account removes the child’s broader account content, including Google Health data. This parental option applies when you created the account and the child is below 13 or the applicable age in your country. Google warns that deleting the account while it remains on signed-in devices can lock those devices and require a factory reset.

Open Google’s child account deletion help and follow its device-removal instructions before deleting the account. Then select Delete your child's account to enter the guided flow and follow the instructions for that account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you recover Google Health after deleting the service?

Google provides a 30-day recovery period for Google Health service deletion. If you change your mind, use Google’s official account deletion help for recovery instructions.

Does deleting your account erase your Fitbit device?

Device erasure is separate from account deletion. If you also want to erase the device, follow Google’s official instructions for your model as a separate task.

What happened to Fitbit accounts that were never moved to Google?

Google ended Fitbit-account service access on May 19, 2026, and said it would begin processing deletions of unmigrated data on July 15, 2026. If you still have an original Fitbit login, use Google’s official account deletion help for assistance with that account.

Does Fitbit Ace LTE use the same child service deletion process?

No. Google directs Fitbit Ace LTE families to separate support, and the device’s privacy guidance describes its own options for parents to access or delete a child’s information. Follow that device’s official guidance before choosing the broader account-deletion option.
