Your Vivo X200 Pro stores temporary cached data to help apps load faster, but over time this cache can get bloated and cause slowdowns or storage warnings. Clearing it out is a quick way to refresh your phone's performance without losing any personal data.
Clear an Individual App's Cache
Head to your phone's Settings and tap on Apps. You'll see a list of all your installed applications. Tap on any app, then select Storage usage. On this screen, you'll find the Clear cache button. Tap it to instantly remove that app's temporary files.
This is perfect for apps that feel sluggish, like social media or your browser. It won't delete your login information or saved preferences, so it's a very safe first step.
Use the Built-in Phone Manager
Vivo's Funtouch OS includes a handy tool for this. Open the i Manager app on your home screen or app drawer. Tap on Clean up storage or a similar option. The app will scan and show you junk files, which are primarily cached data from apps and the system. You can review and clear them with one tap.
I find this is the fastest method on the X200 Pro, and it often frees up a surprising amount of space.
Clear Your Browser Cache
If you use Chrome, open the app and tap the three dots in the top right for the menu. Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data. Make sure Cached images and files is checked. You can choose a time range, but "All time" gives you the cleanest slate. Tap Clear data to finish.
This is great if web pages are loading incorrectly or slowly. Just remember, clearing cookies and site data will log you out of websites.
Wipe the System Cache Partition
For deeper system glitches or lag after an update, clearing the cache partition can help. First, power off your Vivo X200 Pro completely. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Up button simultaneously until the Vivo logo appears, then release.
Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe data and press the power button to select. On the next screen, choose Wipe cache. Confirm the action. This only deletes system cache and won't touch your photos, apps, or messages.
Manage Storage Directly
Go to Settings > Storage to see a complete breakdown of what's filling your 6000mAh-equipped phone. Tap on categories like Apps, Images, and Videos to see the largest files. This is a good way to find and delete old downloads or unused apps that are taking up permanent space, not just cache.
For your photos, consider using Google Photos to back them up to the cloud. Once they're safely backed up, you can use the "Free up space" feature within the app to remove the local copies from your phone.
Restart Your Phone Regularly
It sounds too simple, but holding the power button and tapping Restart clears out temporary system data held in RAM. It's a good habit to restart your phone once a week. With the X200 Pro's fast performance, the reboot only takes a moment and can resolve minor hiccups immediately.
Review Messages and Large Files
Don't forget about your messaging apps. Long conversations, especially group chats filled with videos and memes, can consume gigabytes. Open your messaging app and periodically delete old threads. Also, check the Files or Downloads app for any large documents or APK files you no longer need.
