Want to know how much iCloud space you have left or which app is using the most? Check your storage total and app breakdown on your phone, computer, or iCloud.com, then dig into backups or your shared family plan.
Check iCloud storage on iPhone or iPad
Open Settings > [your name] > iCloud. The storage graph gives you a quick look at your account usage.
Tap Storage, Manage Account Storage, or Manage Storage, whichever appears on your screen. Apple uses both Manage Account Storage and Manage Storage for this button without tying either label to a software version. You'll see how much space each app and feature uses.
Tap an app or feature for more detail. These numbers show your iCloud usage, separate from the space used locally on your iPhone or iPad.
Use the browser storage dashboard
The web dashboard shows your capacity, available space, and app usage in one place.
Open icloud.com/storage in a compatible phone, tablet, or computer browser.
Sign in to your Apple Account.
Check the storage bar for your capacity and available storage.
Read the app-and-feature usage list below the bar to see what's taking up space.
Already on iCloud.com? Open the App Launcher in the toolbar for another route.
Select Your iCloud Storage.
Find the storage breakdown on a Mac
Your Mac's iCloud settings show total usage and a closer look at each category.
- 1.Choose Apple menu > System Settings.
- 2.Click [your name].
- 3.Select iCloud and read the storage graph.
- 4.Click Manage.
- 5.Select an app or feature to see its storage details.
View usage in iCloud for Windows
Open iCloud for Windows while signed in to your Apple Account.
Scroll to the storage graph to check your usage.
Click Manage.
Select an app or feature to inspect how much space it uses.
To use the latest iCloud for Windows, Apple says you need Windows 11 or later and Outlook 2021 or later. If the app route fails, open icloud.com/storage in a compatible browser and sign in to check your usage there.
Look closer at your backup size
This view shows a device's next backup estimate, separate from your total iCloud usage.
On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
Tap Storage, Manage Account Storage, or Manage Storage, whichever appears.
Choose Backups.
Select [your device].
Read Next Backup Size. Give the calculation several minutes to finish; this number estimates the next backup, not everything stored in your account.
Inspect your shared family storage
Sharing iCloud+ with your Family Sharing group? On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings > Family > Subscriptions > iCloud+ to see the shared storage view.
On a Mac, open Apple menu > System Settings > Family > Subscriptions > iCloud+.
If you're the member sharing the subscription, there's another route on your iPhone or iPad. Open Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Storage > Family Usage to inspect family usage.
