You can add a second Snapchat account, but the official mobile app does not keep two accounts active inside one app screen. The clean setup starts with creating the second account, then choosing whether you want fast sign-out switching, a web session, or a separate Android or Samsung app space. Use the options below in that order, from the broadest Snapchat method to device-specific setups.

Create the second Snapchat account first

Start in the official Snapchat app on a supported phone or tablet.

  1. 1.Install Snapchat from the official app store or Snapchat Download page.
  2. 2.Open Snapchat and tap Sign Up.
  3. 3.Enter your name, then tap Sign Up & Accept.
  4. 4.Enter your birthday, create a username, and choose a password.
  5. 5.Enter your phone number and verify it, or tap sign up with email instead.

Snapchat supports Android 5.0 or newer, iOS 14.0 or higher, and Fire OS 5 or newer. Each account needs its own verified email address and/or mobile number, and every account must follow Snapchat's Terms of Service.

Switch accounts with saved login info

Use this when you want two Snapchat accounts on the same phone and do not need both open at the same time. It saves each login on the Snapchat login screen, so switching is mostly sign out, tap, and go.

Log in to the first account and accept Snapchat's prompt to save the login information.

Sign out, log in to the second account, and accept the same saved-login prompt for that account.

After that, sign out whenever you want to switch. On the yellow Snapchat login screen, tap the saved account you want and Snapchat signs you in with one tap.

Bring a saved Snapchat login to a new iPhone or iPad

On iOS, a saved Snapchat login can appear on a new iPhone or iPad when it was saved on another device using the same iCloud account.

Install Snapchat on the new iPhone or iPad, then open the app and check the login screen. When the saved Snapchat account appears, tap it to sign in with one tap.

This gives you quick access to that account on the new iOS device. It does not create a second simultaneous Snapchat app.

If the saved account does not appear, sign in manually with the account's username, email, or phone and password, then save the login again when Snapchat asks.

Use Snapchat for Web for the other account

Snapchat for Web works well when your phone is already signed in to one account and you want the second account open on a desktop browser. Go to web.snapchat.com or snapchat.com/web.

Sign in with the second Snapchat account. On the web, you can also choose Sign in with Google.

If the Google email matches a verified email on a Snapchat account, Snapchat signs you in to that account. If there is no match, Snapchat creates a new account.

Keep the phone app on one account and the browser on the other account when you want both available without repeated sign-outs.

Keep two web sessions separate in Chrome

Use a Chrome profile for a saved second Snapchat web session, or use Incognito for a temporary one.

  1. 1.Open Chrome on your computer.
  2. 2.Select Profile at the top right, then choose Add Chrome profile.
  3. 3.Open Snapchat for Web in that profile and sign in with the second account.
  4. 4.For a temporary session, select More, then New Incognito window.
  5. 5.Open Snapchat for Web in Incognito and sign in. Close all Incognito windows to end that temporary session.

Use Android Private space for a separate Snapchat app

Android 15 Private space can keep a separate Snapchat install away from your main apps and main Snapchat data. Set it up from Settings > Security & privacy > Private space, authenticate, select Set up, then tap Got it.

Add a different Google Account during setup if you want that account tied to the private app space. Set the lock with Use device screen lock or Choose new lock.

To install Snapchat there, touch and hold Snapchat in All Apps, then choose Install app in Private space. You can also open Private space, tap + Install, and install Snapchat through Play Store or another installer.

If Private space is not on your phone, use Android Multiple users, Samsung Dual Messenger, Samsung Secure Folder, or Snapchat for Web instead.

Set up a second Android user

Use this when your Android phone or tablet supports Multiple users. Each Android user has separate apps, accounts, settings, and storage, so Snapchat inside the second user can sign in to another Snapchat account.

Open Settings > System > Multiple users. Tap Add user, then OK; on some devices, tap Add user or profile, then User, then OK.

Enter a name, tap Switch to [username], and when Android asks Set up user now?, tap Set up now.

Finish setup with a Google Account, install Snapchat for that user, and sign in with the second Snapchat account.

Use Samsung Dual Messenger or Secure Folder

The most common Samsung cause of confusion is availability: Dual Messenger only works when Snapchat appears in the compatible apps list.

Open Settings > Advanced features > Dual Messenger. Turn on the switch next to Snapchat, tap Install, review the disclaimer, and tap Confirm when prompted.

Open the second Snapchat icon and sign in with your second account. Screens and settings can vary by carrier, software version, and model.

Samsung Secure Folder is the other built-in route. Open Secure Folder, select the Plus icon, choose Snapchat or download it from Play Store or Galaxy Store, tap Add, then open Snapchat inside Secure Folder and sign in with the second account.

Avoid third-party Snapchat clones

Do not use modified Snapchat apps, third-party clients, plug-ins, tweaks, emulators, or Snapchat++ style apps to run extra accounts. Snapchat says unauthorized third-party apps and plug-ins are against its Terms, including Emulator, Wicked, SnapEnhance, SE-Extended, FMSC, iota, Snapchat Plus, Snapchat++, SCOthman, Phantom, Sneakaboo, and SnapTools.

If you already installed one, uninstall the unauthorized app or plug-in and change your Snapchat password.

If none of the supported options fits your device, use the official app sign-out method with saved login information, because it is the broadest Snapchat-supported fallback.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I stay signed in to two Snapchat accounts in one app?

No. Snapchat lets you have more than one account, but there is no Snapchat-supported in-app switcher that keeps two accounts active inside one official app instance.

Can I use the same email or phone number for both Snapchat accounts?

No. Snapchat allows only one unique email and/or mobile number to be verified per account.

Can I add a second Snapchat account on iPhone like an app clone?

No current vendor-supported iOS feature clones Snapchat as a second installed app. Use saved login switching or Snapchat for Web instead.

Is a second Public Profile the same as a second Snapchat account?

No. A second Public Profile is another public-facing profile managed under one eligible Snapchat account, not a separate login account.
